I’ve been sharing a lot of Christmas cards that feature non-traditional colors lately. I love the challenge of letting other colors join greens and reds in the celebration of the holidays. While YELLOW would never come to mind as a Christmas-y color, I think you’d agree that the brightness adds a nice element to this Christmas project. I colored on a piece of Whisper White and then snipped out the window and glued it to a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Here’s a card I made with Stampin’ Up!’s photopolymer set Gentle Peace:
- Blendabilities. I’ve cheated a lot with my Blendabilities and just colored images – you really get a clean/no streaks look when you color with these alcohol-based markers. Today, though, I thought I would show off my blending skills a bit with this gorgeous image set against a muted background. Layering the colors is really relaxing and makes me feel like an artist.
- Color Lifter. In the Annual Catalog, the Color Lifter is billed as a great way to correct mistakes. I go right in with my Color Lifter, lightening up areas all over the images. Beard to dark? Lighten it up with the Color Lifter. Smoky Slate too dark for swaddling clothes? Here comes the Color Lifter. Not enough texture in the stain glass panels? Hello, my good friend the Color Lifter.
- No Dimensionals. It’s been a long time since I’ve shared a project that uses no Stampin’ Dimensionals. You might remember that I’ve said I have enough of these guys to get me though a zombie apocalypse. It’s true. This card, though, didn’t need anything to add punch or pop. It was perfect (in my humble opinion) on its own.
