That’s a Wrap! for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

InKing Royalty Blog HopWelcome to the November InKing Royalty Blog Hop.  We’re excited to share projects that showcase fun gift wrap and packaging ideas for the holidays.

You may have started the Blog Hop here or may have hopped over from Katie Ferguson at Cottage Paper.  After you read my post, I  hope you’ll hop over to the next.  If you get off track at any point during the blog hop, there’s a complete list of participants at the end of this post.

Give the Gift of Giving

It’s a wonderful feeling to give to others during the Holidays, right?  BUT…I can do better than that.  Instead of just giving this year, I plan to give the gift of giving.  I can see you pulling to the front of your chair and scratching your head.  “What’s this all about, Brian?” Well, this year I’m blessing all my loved ones with a box of gift tags so they’ll remember to give me lots of gifts during the Holidays – 12 tags means 12 gifts, right?  I can be so selfless sometimes.

I created twelve “12 Days of Christmas” gift tags (I’m sharing all of them tomorrow, so please come back for the spectacle of it all) that fit perfectly inside this half-sized wood mount stamp case:

12 Days of Christmas, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingHow could my loved ones forget what’s inside when the outside is so neatly labeled  on the spine and front of the case?  I lined the case with Whisper White paper.  I stamped TAGS with the Skinny Mini alphabet stamp set along the spine and added a piece of Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack to the front with the word “Christmas” from 12 Days of Christmas and “TAGS” cropped from my Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Dies.  It’s a perfect reminder of all the gift-giving that’s about to happen.  Woo hoo for me!  🙂

The inside piece is cut from a 12″ x 12″ piece of Whisper White that measures 3-1/4″ x 11-1/4″.  You could use 8-1/4″x 11″, but one side will be 1/4″ short (perfect if you aren’t stocked up on 12″ x 12″ paper).  I scored the long piece at 5″ from each side for the perfect insert to the stamp case.

So, there you have it – my idea for spreading the joy of giving to all those I know.  Let the shopping begin!

Stamp Sets:  Skinny Mini Alphabet, 12 Days of Christmas  Papers:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack  Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green  Accessories:  Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Die, Half Cases Wood Mount Stamp Case

Sneak Peek.  Here’s a sneak Peek at some of the tags that fit nicely inside the case.  Again, I’ll be sharing all of the tags tomorrow, so please come back!

  1. Brian, this is so ingenious and what a great gift idea! Love it!

  2. I love this box and the idea! But really a bit disappointed in you, figured you would have written your name on a few of the tags after the TO: ….. Selfless nothing. You’re slipping, I expect better than this. 🙂

  3. Oh Brian, what a perfect gift! The gift that keeps on giving! I can’t wait to see all of the tags tomorrow. This has been a fun and inspiring hop. You sure do have a talented group!

  4. You are so clever, Brian! This is a wonderful idea. If I received this, I’d definitely want to give you twelve gifts.

  5. Fabulous idea, gift tags are always a very pretty addition to any wrapped gift.
    Thank you for sharing.

  6. AND Brian – you may have created a tradition. Once the box is empty your loved ones may return them to you for a refill next year and the next and the next, etc. About 10 years ago I decorated cigar boxes and put a dozen handmade cards for various occasions inside with the top card using the same stamp set as the decorated box. I also included a book of U.S. Postage stamps. I did this for six of my friends. Guess what they get every year for Christmas since then? If I tell them I’m not doing it this year they get together and rag on me until I give in. It’s really fun!

    • Thanks Grace, I have a special friend who has everything, would want. This a perfect gift for her and my Dad who is 95 and loves to send cards! Thanks,
