Stampin’ Up!’s Wondrous Wreath with a Special Guest Stamper

Today is a very special day.  This past weekend, the Fungeon sponsored a Guest Stamper, and I’m excited to share one of the projects she made.  While you might refer to my super-special Guest Stamper as Mary King, I call her Mom.

Mom wanted to make a handful of Christmas cards.  Her requirements – traditional Christmas colors.  During her short breaks from filing away card stock and organizing Framelits in the Fungeon, I allowed her to use my supplies to make her cards.  With limited time, though, she had to be quick and smart.   Here’s the card she made:

Wondrous Wreath, Stampin' Up!, by Mary KingCan you tell she’s been paying attention to my blog?  She’s learned the art of thin borders and the science of a simple layout.  What had she NOT learned from my blog?  The best way to crop-and-stamp the Wondrous Wreath (because I’d never done it).  We tried a couple of ways before I searched online and came across clear instructions from my friend Patty Bennett – this order of events made this process SO much easier:

  1. Crop the center of the wreath.
  2. Stamp the wreath around the cropped center.
  3. Crop the outside of the wreath.

It’s really that easy!  The stamps and Framelits come with little tabs to mark the same spot on the wreath – as long as those are lined up every time, this process is super-simple.  Mom marked each wreath with a tiny pencil mark to indicate the placement of that tab each time.

The wreath, bow and hanger are all mounted directly on the Pear Pizzazz card stock (the Pear Pizzazz square is cropped with a Squares Collection Framelit).  That is then mounted on a thin border of Real Red and then popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Wondrous Wreath, Stampin' Up!, by Mary KingMom had a lot of fun making these cards, and I’m happy she could walk away with such beauties.

I hope you’ll leave a message below to let Mom – errr, Mary King – know how much you love her project.  She’s home now, but I know she’s checking in.  🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!
