Welcome to the last Pals Blog Hop of 2014. This month we want to help you start your holiday wish list by sharing projects featuring our favorite Stampin’ Up! papers, stamps, tools and accessories. Get your wish list ready as you move along through the blog hop.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Whelan at Amy’s inklings on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.
Vibrant Joy for Pals Blog Hop
My project for the Pals Blog Hop is a combination of natural beauty (Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper) and glittery goodness (Gold and Red Glimmer Paper) from the Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies – all perfectly wonderful items for you Christmas wish list. Here’s my project:
- Beautiful Pairing of Colors. Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green are obvious choices for the Holidays, but they are even more beautiful when paired with Early Espresso, kraft and gold. I can’t take credit for these beautiful colors – Stampin’ Up! gets all the glory for them – but I get a little credit for pairing them in a beautifully balanced way, right?
- Starry Night. You might not be able to tell from the above photo, but there are tiny, white stars on this kraft colored Specialty Designer Series Paper. That inspired me to add shiny stars to the flat and untextured, but beautifully-shaped, wreath. I really love how this turned out – even if it meant I had to pass Glimmer Paper through my star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. 🙂
- Dimensional Joy. There are two components to the word “joy” on this card front – the Cherry Cobbler “joy” is cropped and glued directly to the base of the central panel. I also cropped “joy” with Gold Glimmer Paper and then snipped teeny-tiny pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the glimmered “joy.” It really looks wonderful, but here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at how this same sentiment looks at a different angle:
Papers: Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Gold Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper Accessories: Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I’m also submitting this card in this week’s “Black Tie” Challenge from The Paper Players. Why? Because I used Glimmer Paper – and that’s TOTALLY fancy.

Glitz and glimmer twice this week?!?! Will the Fungeon ever get back to normal?
Oh I LOVE this Brian! Beautiful!!!
beautiful – you are amazing
Nice card Brian…love that heavy-weight DSP!
I’m with Kelly, Brian… Lots of glitz for you this week… glitter, too! This is such a classy, calm card.
Another sparkly, shimmery, GLITTERY card today, eh? I think you are getting over you aversion to GLITTER Brian, slowly but surely, although I could be wrong, am I?
No kidding, love the way you highlighted the JOY word, beautiful indeed.
Thank you for sharing.
Love it Brian!!! There is just something about brown paired with red that I love. Hugs!!!
Really beautiful card!
Super Brian. Love this earthy card. Right up my alley. TFS!
Love this card too, Brian. The colors are so warm and cozy to me. Love the glittery stars. I think glitter paper is a great compromise to glitter”.
Thanks a bunch!
🙂
HI Brian:
The shadow effect you have given the word Joy is amazing. I love the glitter word but the shadow effect really does make it “pop”. I shall be sending you a “badge of courage” for using glitter paper several times in the same week! That-a-boy, face your fears and be done with it. LOL Great job, beautiful card – as always.
Thanks for the “behind the scenes” picture. It helped make this idea very doable. I’m going to give it a try!
Awesome card Brian, I can see how the Under the Tree paper could be used for other types of cards or projects. I love all the sparkle you added to this card with Glimmer paper. Great job
Awesome card, Brian! So proud of the glimmer paper usage!! 🙂
Love how you layered the JOY.
Sparkles and stars–two of my favorite elements. Bet you love that Glimmer Paper that keeps those little flecks in check!!
Great card, Brian! Love the stars as embellishments on the wreath.
Great layout and fun with glimmer paper!
Kraft and glimmer! What a grand (fancy) pairing and I love it! I always love the wreath cut from solid card stock. It looks great!
If I could use a glitter pen to write this comment I totally would! I am a little in shock over all the glitter. But it is such a beautiful card it is worth it!!
Lovely card, Brian! I love the country feel you’ve imparted to it! Very cozy and yet festive at the same time! Thanks so much for playing with our Paper Players challenge this week!
Great card Brian – and not a stamp set in sight! I love the glimmer star wreath – very fancy festive! Thanks for joining us for our two-week challenge over at The Paper Players – season’s greetings!
