Carried Away with Celebrate Today & Time to Celebrate – Sneak Peeks

Celebrate Today is a wonderful new stamp set in the upcoming Occasions Catalog (orders start January 6), and Time to Celebrate is a new host set in the same catalog (the set is offered at a discounted rate for those who place orders greater than $150 or who host a party greater than $150).  I love a good “celebrate” card!  While the word “celebrate” is included in the names of both of these stamp sets, I combined them to make a cute Valentine’s card.  Here it is:

Celebrate Today, Time to Celebrate, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

I had to cut into this paper to find the exact spot where I could perfectly stamp my sentiment between the clouds.  I used my handy Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line it all up for me.

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • A Boatload of Sneak Peeks.  There are quite a few Occasions Catalog Sneak Peeks included in this clean-and-simple card:  Celebrate Today photopolymer stamp set, Time to Celebrate Host stamp set, Balloon Framelit Dies, Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack and Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper.  The Framelits coordinate with a balloon stamp from Celebrate Today, but I used the die to cut the balloon from Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • Fun Color Combination.  I love this combination of Lost Lagoon, Real Red and Whisper White.  The red really pops against the muted blue backdrop.  Do you feel inspired by this color combination, too?  If you like it as much as I do, feel free to save this off:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Color Shades.  Stampin’ Up! has always selected beautiful colors for the Designer Series Papers – and I’m always excited by the new and exciting color combinations.  While they have always includes “shades of” specified colors in the papers, this Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Brochure include “shades of” that can be really difficult to match up.  The cloudy background of this piece of Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper, for example, looks like Soft Sky, but it doesn’t match with Soft Sky card stock.  That’s because it’s a lighter shade of Lost Lagoon.  When paired with the right color (in this case, Lost Lagoon), you find a perfect match.

  4. Oh! That is cute! what a perfect Valentine for my hubby!

  5. Love it, Brian! So imaginative!

  6. HI Brian:

Fabulous card (as always). I really love the way the balloon looks as though it is “flowing” in the air down to pick up it’s next passenger. I agree that the colors are fantastic and make each other “pop”. Of course the Stacked with Love DSP is just perfect for the balloon and wouldn’t that be a fantastic way to surprise the love of your life by having a hot air balloon show up for a ride? The perfect place for a proposal! LOL

    Have a fantastic day!

  7. Up up and away with that beautiful balloon………
    Love it !!!
    Hugs Frenchie

  8. Love the colour combo Brian – it’s as good as Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler with Whisper White! Inspiring!

  9. I love the way you used the balloon thinlet. The hot air balloon is a great idea.
