You Make Me Happy for CTS105

I love challenging techniques and intricate layers on a card, but sometimes simplicity wins over everything else.  While making today’s card for CAS(E) This Sketch, I unwaveringly embraced the mantra of clean and simple, and I love how it turned out.  Here’s my card:

Epic Alphabet, Hello Love, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, CTS105

And here’s Michelle Williams’ sketch that inspired my creation:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Stacked with Love.  How much do you love the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack?  If you are like me, the answer to that question is “A LOT!”  I love the combination of soft red-and-pink patterns on one side and bold black-and-white patterns on the other.  I have wanted to use this “XOXO” pattern since I first received this paper, but I still flipped through the pack several times before settling on it.  I just love it!Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Do You Know My Heart?  I’m always happy when I can use a stamp that I’ve, otherwise, overlooked.  Do you recognize this fun and flirty heart?  It’s been sitting right under our noses since July, and bold stripes are a perfect complement to pattern in this background paper.  This heart is from Epic Alphabet – it’s one of a handful of shapes that hang out with the letters in the set.Epic Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Leave it Alone.  I still have a hard time leaving a large span of white space on a card – and there’s a lot of white on this card.  The white space here works, though.  The bold, red heart and sweet, black sentiment balance out the white space and keep it from being overwhelming.  Speaking of the sentiment – don’t you just love this sweet saying from Hello Love, one of the stamp sets you can earn at a discounted rate when you place a $150+ order.  Woo hoo!  Please reach out to me at [email protected] if you’d like to learn more.
