Saying Thanks with Butterflies Thinlits Dies

As a general rule, I try to showcase the Stampin’ Up! items that might not be getting a lot of exposure on other blogs.  I like to find the hidden gems and share those with you.  Today’s an exception.  Since the moment they showed up in the Occasions Catalog, the Butterflies Thinlit Dies have been wonderfully showcased everywhere – in soft, beautiful ways and in bold, crisp fashion.  I couldn’t stay away from it.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • The butterfly.  This butterfly is the medium-sized butterfly in a bundle of three.  Although intricate in design, her wings are bold and beautiful.  I have loved this Flower Pot Designer Series Paper since it was released in the Annual Catalog in 2014, but it has been waiting for this butterfly.  Together, they are a perfect pair.
  • Pattern, pattern, pattern.  The pattern of flowers in this Flowerpot Designer Series Paper is very energetic.  Lots of movement and color and shapes.  As such, I knew I couldn’t place this butterfly directly on the patterned paper.  Instead, I knew that she’d pop against a dark, solid backdrop.  This small panel of Night of Navy was a perfect showcase for her beautiful wings.flower pot
  • Simple Sentiment.  The intricate butterfly and energetic paper called for a simple, but beautiful sentiment.  I reached for Another Thank You photopolymer for this gem.  As my love for photopolymers grows (I’m still wood mount at heart), I’ve found another reason to love them – they are GREAT for lining up images to heat emboss.  The Stamp-a-Ma-Jig creates a lot of static on paper so that lining up for embossing is difficult.  When you can see exactly where you are stamping, embossing meets joy.
