Irresistibly Yours: Something to be Thankful for

There are some projects that just come together quickly – the colors, the layout, the layering all work just the way you imagined them.  Today’s card is one of those cards for me.  The very moment I received my first pack of Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper in the mail, I planned this card in my mind, and I’m so happy with how it turned out.  Here’s my card:

You Brighten My Day, Irresistibly Yours, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingOver the next week, I’ll share a handful of projects I created with this wonderful paper.  Before I share my tips and tricks for creating this card, though, I want to share a wonderful video by Stampin’ Up!  I couldn’t have prepared a video that better shares the excitement of this incredible paper:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This specialty paper is one of the exclusive items you can earn FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order.  There’s no easy way to showcase this amazing paper without putting it in your hands.  The Sale-a-Bration shows the patterns and great projects with the paper, but you can’t really know how awesome it is until you create with it.  Here are the patterns available with this paper:Irresistibly Yours Designer Series PaperAs shown in the video above, I used my brayer to create a solid, smooth background on this leafy piece of Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I chose to ink the paper with Blushing Bride, which got deeper and richer with every layer.  It wasn’t the soft, subtle hue I was going for, but I really like it.
  • Color Combination.  I love great combinations of colors.  When I find one that works for me, I can’t stay away.  I first envisioned this combination of Mossy Meadow, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake when I first played around with the 2014-2016 In Colors.  I created this card using the same combination of colors.  If you like this combination, too, feel free to save this:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Always Something.  Don’t you love this sentiment?  Do you recognize it?  It’s found another free item you can earn during this year’s Sale-a-Bration – the You Brighten My Day stamp set.  While this sentiment pairs perfectly with the Note Tag punch, I masked the edges of the image so I could crop it with circles.  Here’s a peek at this stamp set (another item you can earn with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration):

Stamp Sets:  You Brighten My Day  Papers:  Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper  Inks:  Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow  Accessories:  Brayer, 2″ Circle punch, 2-1/2″ Circle punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

  1. Your care is beautiful Brian. That paper is beyond incrediable!!!! I pray that it is put into the new 2015-2016 big regular catalog and a DSP paper that can get whenever.

    • Nana Vonne, Unfortunately I don’t think this paper will ever make it to the catalog. Stampin’ Up! has billed it as “exclusive to Sale-a-Bration” so I don’t expect it will become a mainstain. That said, I hope they come out with something very similar. Until then, we can all earn a whole bunch of it through the rest of Sale-a-Bration. 🙂

  2. This is a beautiful card and layout.

  3. Very nice, really like the colors, you do a fine job.

  4. Love the new “emboss resist” paper and that sentiment is SO true. There is always something to be thankful for… sometimes we just need to look a little harder or have a good friend come along to point it out!

  5. Ooooohhhhhh. How pretty!

  6. This is just beautiful Brian! I love the deep colour on the Irresistibly Yours DSP from the brayered finish and the appearance of the sentiment is altered completely by framing with a circle, yet the vertical line is in keeping with the rest of the card. Good job!

  7. Love this card!! It says gracefulness along with soft. The colors are wonderful and the lines are excellent! Thanks for sharing.

  8. That DSP is amazing and hopefully SU will include it in the new catalog. You’re card is fabulous and you are featuring my very favorite stamp from the Sale-A-Bration offerings. The color combo you chose to use is so soft and absolutely perfect to show off the new paper and stamp. Love it, love it, love it!

  9. Like this stamp set a bunch ! It was my first freebie from SAB. Your colors are just so nice with this sentiment . Now….I think like Nana does that this paper should be a regular in the upcoming catty ! Plus I think it can stand alone w/o coloring and be elegant . Pretty Monday card !

  10. A great sentiment for a Monday and a great card! I can see why you were thinkingB.B.lighter as the first choice, but its nice like this, too.
