Happy Easter & FREE SHIPPING Starts Tomorrow

While I’m partial to Fall weather (the crisp cool weather is my favorite), even I can admit that nothing compares to a beautiful Spring day – before the heat really sets in.  That’s just what we experienced yesterday in Atlanta.  I saved my project for The Pals Paper Arts challenge for today – it’s my Easter gift to you.  The colors for this challenge (Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Kraft) lend themselves so well to a sweet, Easter card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sweet Sentiment.  As if I haven’t already said this a hundred times, I love the combination of script and print – I always have.  I created my own combination of words to create this sentiment – I used “happy” from Yippee-Skippee (the unmasked sentiment is “you can never have too much happy”) and Easter from For Peeps’ Sake (the unmasked sentiment is “Enjoy an egg-celent Easter”).  I love them together.
  • Pretty in Pistachio.  I’ve never been a huge fan of Pistachio Pudding, so I won’t be too sad when it (likely) hits the retirement list later this month (April 21 is the day!).  I am, though, a huge fan of this polka dot print from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack.  It’s a perfect backdrop for this sweet card – and pairs perfectly with Crisp Cantaloupe and Kraft.
  • Doilies.  Tea Lace Paper Doilies are included in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog, but these aren’t those.  🙂  The doily used here is a slightly smaller doily that’s found in the Artisan Embellishment Kit.  Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the two (the Tea Lace Paper Doily is on the left at 4″ in diameter, and the doily from the Artisan Embellishment is on the right at 3-1/2″ in diameter):Doilies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  6. Sweet card today. Very clever sentiment. I will need to look at my sentiments in a different way. Your inspiration always impresses me. Thanks and enjoy your day!

  7. Happy Easter Brian, thank you for a card demo during the Holiday!

  8. Beautiful card Brian. Now I’m going to tell you something but I don’t want you to be too jealous – we woke up to snow and it’s still snowing. I know, I know – you are going to want me to send it down to Atlanta but I’m going to be selfish and keep it all here in Maine. Try to have a Happy Easter in spite of your lack of snow. Hugs…………….

    • Totally jealous, Grace! I don’t know why you have to rub it in my face. 🙂 We had a cold snap last week but now snow (thank goodness). I hope your day was lovely!

  9. Awwwww, happy Easter to you too my friend !!!!!

  10. Pretty ! I like Pistachio Pudding for a soft accent or background color . This card has a soft Spring like look because of your choice of using that dsp. I also like that heavy Baker`s Twine that you chose ….hope SU has more colors coming in the new catalog .
    Happy Easter !

  11. Brian, cannot tell you how much I enjoy your cards. You and I seem to have similar ideas about stamping – not so elaborate – but still lovely cards. I have several beginner stampers in my group and your cards have been CASED a few times – I usually pass on your site to them all for watching for ideas also. Thanks a million for your great ideas – and hope to be able to run you down at convention and thank you in person. I think I will be able to find you ! ! !

  12. Happy Easter, Brian! I love the beautiful way the soft colors play off each other. This card is simple and lovely.

  13. This card is so perfect for Spring holidays. The Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantalope are the kind of pastels that evoke Spring. Happy Easter Brian

  14. I never realised those doilies were a different size Brian – I have a real aversion to doilies, so that’s probably why! Love this card though – might case a few ready for next year, a good excuse to save my doilies from languishing in the box

  15. Gorgeous Easter card, Brian! I love the doily and the twine running between that and the sentiment layers. So glad you joined us this week at the PPA!

  16. Love the 3 bakers twine….so clean and crisp! You are THE KING!
