New Video: Hexagon Punch and Painted Blooms

Yesterday I shared a card that challenged me to use my Hexagon punch.  Today, I’m happy to share a video tutorial that walks you step-by-step through the process I used to create that pattern, along with some other tips for using the Hexagon punch.  Here’s the card I shared yesterday (you can see my original post here):

Love is Happiness, Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper, Hexagon Punch, Stampin' Up!Some people are really great at creating beautiful collages with hexagons.  I struggle.  That’s why I created this symmetrical shape with a collection of hexagons – we have to do what works for us, right?  Whether you choose to recreate this flower shape or some other collection of hexagons, the method described in this video will help you to create a continuous pattern with whatever paper or punch you use.  And here’s my video:

Two sizes of hexagons?  I received several questions yesterday about the two sizes of hexagons in this project, so I thought I’d offer an explanation.  🙂  I glued the cropped hexagons to a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  Since all the hexagon edges were straight, I simply snipped around the edges, leaving a thin strip of Blackberry Bliss on the outside of the flower shape.  It wasn’t complicated snipping – even though my snipping wasn’t exact, I was super-happy with the result.

Stamp Sets:  Love is Kindness  Papers:  Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky, Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Rose Red  Inks:  Tuxedo Black Memento  Accessories:  Hexagon punch, Confetti Heart Border punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
