Hello There with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch

You already know how much I adore a simple card with a simple layout.  Today’s card took a bit of maneuvering to get it where I wanted it, but it’s easily reproducible, and I’m sharing all my tips with you.  I think you’ll agree that this card packs quite a punch – with punches.  Here’s my card:

Regarding Dahlias, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian King Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Regarding Dahlias.  I want to tell you a secret – this is one of my all-time favorite stamp sets.  Please don’t tell anyone, but I own the clear mount and wood mount version of this set.  Not only does Regarding Dahlias have a bold, beautiful flower, but the sentiments are friendly and modern.  I was looking for this one when the Retiring List was debuted in April – sad to see it on the list, but I’m happy to share it with you.  There’s still time for you to pick it up, but it’s going away, so…
  • Components of the card.  I had a lot of fun coordinating the components of this card.  I love the simplicity of the finished product, but it took several cuts and iterations before I found all the sizes and shapes I needed to make it all work.  Regarding Dahlias, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingTo create the perfect piece to fit behind the 2″ circle, crop a 1-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of cardstock and punch either side of it in the Ornate Tag Topper punch.  That gives you the perfect length for the circles to cover the holes that are created by the punch.
  • Color Inspiration.  I love the combination of aqua and red.  Love it!  If you like this combination, too, please feel free to save this:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
