Friendship and a Sheltering Tree Punch

I love playing with new products, and I love when they pair perfectly with products we already have.  I really enjoyed playing with my new Tree Builder punch to make this 7″ x 4″ card – and was excited with how perfectly it paired with the sentiment from Sheltering Tree.  Yippee!  Here’s my card:

Sheltering Tree, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Builder Punches.  Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has introduced quite a few Builder Punches – punches that have multiple shapes build right in.  The Tree Builder is the newest addition to the punch family – super-cute!  The others that are still current include Owl Builder, Bird Builder, Bow Builder and Cupcake Builder.
  • Little Red Birdie.  This card is filled with browns and greens.  The Sprinkles of Life photopolymer stamp set (this year’s Ronald McDonald House set) has a sweet little bird that coordinates with this punch.  Yippee!  I chose to let him pop a bit on the front of the card by making him red.  Where’s that little bird that’s sheltered by the tree?  Pop!  There he is!
  • Ombre Trees.  I do love the look of graduated shades of the same colors – I progressively darkened the green and brown used for the tree tops and trunks in each of these trees.  Moving from left to right on the card, here are the greens I used Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Garden Greenand here are the browns I used:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso

    Super cute and clever, Brian:)

  5. I like this punch and that is not a surprise because I am “Punchy” over punches ! And I like your card especially with that Cardinal or you could make it a sweet little Bluebird !!
I like the various greens on the trees which convinces me that I really need a color comparison chart for each color !
    Happy Saturday !

  6. This is a great card, I love the muted quality it has. I will add my name to the list of people who absolutely love this punch. It has such versatility, which is something I look for in crafting products.

  7. Good Morning Brian:

I went a little ga ga over this card. I think it was the way you used the gradient colors. Or maybe it was the size. Or maybe it was the use of the punch. Or maybe it was the layering. Or maybe it was the simplicity of the arrangement. Or, Or, Or maybe it was the combination of all of the above! LOL Anyway, the end result is the same. Now I absolutely, positively MUST HAVE that builder punch. Can you tell I really love this card? Thanks again Brian for working your magic!

  8. Excellent! I love your ombre effect.
I just started playing with that punch last night and had a ball. Great punch!

  9. Great card Brian. This maybe my favorite of all you’ve done…top 3 anyway! LOVE Love Love and plan to CASE!

  10. Thank you, Brian, for providing yet another card for me to CASE for my beginning stampers group! The tree builder punch and the Sprinkles of Life stamp set are the only two things I ordered in the sneak peek because I have to watch my spending right now. We made one card with this set last month, and I can’t wait to share this card with them. The stamp set and punch are SO versatile for someone with a limited budget. You are truly a Georgia peach!

  11. You are a true master at taking the same items, and making them look so different. I love the different greens and brown, and that little bird does his thing on that branch. I also never ever ever think to make a card a different size. Love this card and everything about it. You are the true “king”… 🙂

  12. Love the card, Brian, especially the way you cut down the second panel to make the first one look like a frame. Excellent color choices too! Winner, winner we know what’s for dinner!

  13. Brian, love your style. I am having problems printing from your new blog site. My printer prints a half of page and then locks up and I have to cancel printing. Your site is the only one so it is not my printer. Help!
