A Simple Invitation and a Blog Candy Giveaway

Today I’m sharing a super-simple project with a new favorite from Stampin’ Up!’s 2015-2016 Annual Catalog and a retired favorite from Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  If you’d like to review my Top Favorites from the new catalog, click here.  To celebrate the combination of the two, I’m also offering a Blog Candy Giveaway that I think you’ll love – so please stick around after the project.

Here’s my card:

All About Sugar, Regarding Dahlias (retired), Stampin' Up!, Brian KingTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • All About Sugar.  Perhaps the sweetest addition to the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog is All About Sugar.  While this set can be used for all sorts of parties and fun-themed events, I wanted to formalize it a little bit and make a simple invitation on a Whisper White Note Card.  So I did it.  Look how fancy this set of fork, knife and spoon look when stamped in Smoky Slate! All About Sugar
  • Simple Layering.  The face of this note card is already smaller than a standard card front (note cards measure 5″ x 3-1/2″ and come with a coordinating envelope.  At $6 for 20, these packs are a steal!  Anyway…I made the focal point even smaller and added a layer of Smoky Slate beneath.  Super simple and simply classy.
  • Color Combination.  How simple and beautiful is this combination of black, white and gray?  The soft of Smoky Slate looks almost silver against the black and white, but there’s not a hint of shine in the paper or ink.  If you like this combination, too, please save this as a reminder:Stampin' Up! Come back tomorrow!  As part of this month’s Pals Blog Hop, I’ll be sharing another project I’ve made with this fun stamp set – you don’t want to miss it.

  1. My favorite new color is Mint Macaron. It looks so versatile!

  2. Tip Top Taupe, I like using neutral colors.

  3. TipTopTaupe has to be a favorite because it goes with so many other colors! Really a great neutral.

  4. Tip Top Taupe, totally. When your colors need a friend, and neither Slate nor Chocolate will do, slatey chocolate it is! (Delicious!)

  5. I absolutely love, adore, like, the new tip top taupe, it can be worked with everything and anything. Thanks for asking and the question.

  6. Definitely Tip Top Taupe. It’s a beautiful creamy smooth addition to the neutral family that was needed IMO.

Neutrals are more necessary, vital, than given credit for. They provide harmony and balance to a project that a color cannot.

Bravo for Tip Top Taupe !

  7. My favorite color is Watermelon Wonder. I like the bright colors.

  8. I really like Watermelon Wonder…has a fresh and unique twist to it.

  9. I like all the new colors but my favorite is Watermelon Wonder. It’s a nice fun color that would be great for bright florals or backgrounds with energy!! I like the orangey tones added to the deep pink!

  10. I love your classy and elegant card Brian and I just finished watching your video with the fry box die and stamp set. SO cute!! As for my favorite new color, that would be Watermelon Wonder because it’s so bright and fun. I have two little girls and I would use that color a lot! Feels like summer to me!

  11. All the new in-colors look so luscious!! My new fave has to be Tip Top Taupe because neutrals are king (pun intended!) 🙂 I love a crisp neutral to make the other colors with it really pop!

  12. Hope it’s not to late to play 🙂 my favorite is mint macaron! Sage shadow is a color I’ve been hanging on to for years and now it’s (kinda) back!! Love how it’s more green with green shades and blue with blue shades. Make sense?? Lol! Tip top taupe is great too!

  13. Forgive me for being so rude! Love the card! Would be a great BBQ invite!

  14. Watermelon wonder! It just pops!
