You’re Fabulous with A Whole Lot of Lovely

Every once in a while, you make a card that’s exactly what you wanted to make – and that leaves you feeling giggly inside.  Today I am sharing one of those cards.  I wasn’t sure how this little adventure would end, but when the project was complete, I proudly held it up and said, “Woo hoo!  Look at what I made!  I. Made. This. Card.”  I was alone in the Fungeon at the time, but I don’t think my breath was wasted.  And I don’t feel embarrassed because I know you’ve done the same thing, too.  Here’s my card:

A Whole Lot of Lovely, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • You’re Fabulous.  This sentiment is from A Whole Lot of Lovely, one of the Host Sets found in the back of the Annual Catalog.  Not only are these sets reduced in price, but they can be exclusively earned with Stampin’ Rewards.  When your Stampin’ Up! product order is over $150, you earn start to earn Stampin’ Rewards (even if all the purchases are your own).  You can cash those rewards in on any product in the book and maximize those benefits by cashing them in on the awesome Host Sets.   To read more about Stampin’ Rewards and to review all of the reduced-price items, click here.

  • Faux Textured Embossing.  Texture is a very important part of card making.  I added fun texture with the rough-and-dainty Linen Thread, but also added a fun background that appears to be texture embossed.  There’s no embossing folder with the shapes found in the Pansy Punch – so it shouldn’t be difficult to figure out how I created this background.  Nevertheless, I have filmed a fun video that I’ll share with you tomorrow to introduce you (or reintroduce you) to Faux Textured Embossing.  I’ll share that video tomorrow.  I’ll also share the measurements I used in this card.  🙂
  • Calming Color Combination.  I first fell in love with Pear Pizzazz last Fall.  It was so perfectly featured in several of the papers in the Holiday Catalog.  I haven’t turned my back on this beautiful, soft green.  Look how wonderfully it pairs with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  Does is get any more calming and soothing than this?Stampin' Up! 25. Really lovely card. Great colour combo.
I have those ‘look what I made moments’ too! I stand them up, lay them down, look at them on the squint (IOU) and pronounce their loveliness to whoever may be listening (or not) 😀

  26. I love this card as well as the technique! Awesome! 🙂

  27. Did you use wet glue to attach the pieces to card or Fast Fuse or Snail?
It looks very nice I just want to know how they were attached. Thank you.

    • Thanks, Cheri! I use Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue on almost all projects – it gives me a little “wiggle room” to get everything exactly where I want it. You can’t use a lot of it, but it can be a life-saver. Hope that helps!
