Happy Scenes – Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

I’m excited to share today’s project for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  Not only is Jen Brum hosting a super-fun sketch this week, but the challenge provides a perfect platform for me to showcase some new and wonderful products I picked up at Stampin’ Up!’s Convention last week.  Here’s my card:

Happy Scenes, Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS197

And here’s the banner for Jen’s sketch challenge that inspired my card:FMS197

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Happy Scenes Sneak Peek.  While many Stampin’ Up! demonstrators walked away from this past week’s Convention in Salt Lake City with amazing, all-attendee giveaways and pre-order items, I am one of a few who received Happy Scenes as a Prize Patrol gift.  Most demonstrators won’t be able to order this set until next week, but I can show it to you now.  Yay!  Here’s a look at the other images and sentiments in this incredible and versatile photopolymer stamp set:

  • Window to the World.  This super-fun set coordinates with an incredible Thinlits Die in the Holiday Catalog.  The Thinlits Die makes a huge window – so fun for any cardfront and so versatile for any holiday.  It’s really a lovely die!  Since I don’t yet have the window die (although I will be ordering it as soon as I can next week), I made my very own window with a 1″ square punch.  I’ll be sharing more tips and tricks for creating this window – along with a closer look at this amazing Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper in tomorrow’s post – so please come back.
  • Halloween Colors.  Black and orange make for a wonderful Halloween color combination.  I added Crumb Cake to neutralize these strong colors a bit, and I really like how they work together.  If you like this combination, too, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Basic Black, Tangelo Twist, Crumb Cake

Stamp Sets:  Happy Scenes  Papers:  Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake, Tangelo Twist, Very Vanilla  Inks:  Tuxedo Black Memento  Accessories:  1″ Square punch, Banner punch, Banner Triple punch, Tangelo Twist 5/8″ Striped Cotton Ribbon, Handheld Stapler, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to Freshly Made Sketches to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!
