Your New Home Sweet Home

There are so many awesome and new products in the soon-to-be-released Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  Yesterday I offered you a “sneak peek video” – but I scheduled the video to post at 5PM, instead of 5AM.  Silly me!  As such, if you tried to view the video in the early morning, then you received a “please sign in” notice.  If you missed it, you still have a chance to see it – click here.

Today I’m sharing another wonderful pairing of products from the Holiday Catalog – Jingle All the Way stamp set and Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies.  Here’s a sneak peek at this wonderful offering (available individually or in a bundle):

Jingle All The Way & Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, Stampin' Up!These Edgelits Dies are absolutely incredible!  Sloped and curvy, one die has trees, one die has houses and one die has a horse and sleigh.  Such an easy way to design a quick-and-easy card with layers of wonderful hills.  The sentiments in the coordinating stamp set slope right along with the cropped dies.  What a wonderful pairing!

Although these Edgelits Dies are created for a beautiful Christmas landscape, I used them to make a chic and modern Housewarming Card.  Here’s my card:

  • Flexible Edgelits.  I already told you these Sleigh Ride Edgelits are incredible – now do you believe me?  They are trendy, fun and flexible to be used in so many ways.  While I could easily crop out five houses that rest on the top of a curve, I decided to use the negative cutout to crop the five houses into the base of the curve.  What fun!
  • Happy Notes.  This sentiment is from Happy Notes, one of my Favorite Picks from this year’s Annual Catalog, is the perfect sentiment for a Housewarming Card.  The image that accompanies this sentiment is ADORABLE, but it wasn’t right for this card – so I isolated the sentiment – if you’d like to see my video about isolating images on a stamp, click here.  Here’s a look at Happy Notes:

  • Green and Black.  Before I sat down to make this card, I knew I wanted to make a green and black card.  I don’t know why – I just had that combination of colors in my head and couldn’t let go of it.  Cucumber Crush provides the right level of vibrancy to pair perfectly with the deep richness of Basic Black.  2015-2017 In Color Envelope Papers make a perfect envelope liner to send with this simple card.Happy Notes, Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, housewarming card

Could you link to the video you referenced (isolating stamp images) as I’m interested in seeing what your particular technique is (I’m a new reader of your blog). Thank you.

  8. HI Brian:

I can see already you are going to cost me big bucks once that new catalog comes out. You said it was amazingly fabulous and I’m thinking you are so right. LOL

  9. Chris R. from Iowa

How fun is this? I made a “new home” card recently and actually made her 6 so she could send some to those with her new address on the inside. I used the arrow punch and the house from the Sale-a-bration set. Your card is more sophisticated and clean than mine but I had fun using supplies from a kit from last year. Love the use of the negative. I wonder if the starry new holiday paper would have been too much or does it just have polka dots?

    Another classy card!

  10. Gorgeous card, love learning from you….using the negative….wonderful! I ordered this bundle at Convention….even though I am from California, I still fell in love with the slopes of these dies! Tfs your tips and tricks!
