Sweet Strawberry Basket in Watermelon Wonder

Things got a little out-of-hand as I prepared today’s project.  While I set out to make a super-simple project with the Berry Basket Bigz L Die (it’s on this week’s list of Weekly Deals), I kept finding fun ways to add more and more.  In the end, I’m really happy with this project, and I’m excited to share it with you today.

Here’s the simple Berry Basket Bigz L Die I made with Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper and decorated with four 2-1/2″ squares of Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper.  I curled the edges of the paper with a bone folder and used Tear and Tape to adhered them to the Watermelon Wonder bands around the top of the basket.

Here’s a quick run-down of the products I used to make this basket:

I was going to stop there, but I thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun to put a little baggie of those strawberry candies in the basket?”  Why, yes, that would be fun.  I tossed some of those sugary sweets in a 4″ x 6″ Cello Bag and tied it off with a piece of Watermelon Wonder 1″ Dotted Lace Trim.  Pairs perfectly with the Berry Basket, don’t you think?

The Berry Bigz L Die is on this week’s Weekly Deals list – only on sale until tomorrow night.  If you don’t have it, you’ll want it this Spring – and this is a great time to purchase it because it’s been reduced from $38.00 to $28.50.  Wowza!

OK, so that felt complete.  Just when I was ready to stop and take pictures of this project, I thought, “Shouldn’t I have a sweet card to accompany this Berry Basket of delights?”  OK.  OK.  I went to work, using Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper, Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Apple of My Eye stamp set to create a sweet 3″ x 5-1/2″ card to accompany the basket:

Sweet, huh?  That’s a complete gift perfect for February 14.  I created an envelope for the card using 2015-2017 In Colors Envelope Paper and my Envelope Punch Board and incorporated the same heart-filled pattern I used in the basket – perfect coordination.
