Yesterday I shared a sweet “missing you” card. I had so much fun coloring and stamping the image of the bench on a hill that I thought I would share that with you today in a video. I filmed a fun video to show several “altenative” techniques for stamping this scene with the Happy Home stamp and my Stampin’ Write Markers. I experimented with these techniques in this video – trying them for the first time on film. What fun! I hope you enjoy this video:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Bundle. In the video, I mention that the Happy Home stamp set is available in a bundle – I rarely lie. Happy Home pairs perfectly with the Hearth and Home Thinlits – while they can be presented separate from one another, they look really great together. Even better if you can get both and save 15% – am I wrong?
- Four Ways. Here’s a quick summary of the four techniques I tested in the video:
- Color the image, lightly huff it and stamp it down.
- Color the image, heavily huff it and stamp it down.
- Color the image, spritz it with water and stamp it down.
- Color the image, spritz the paper with water and stamp it down.
- Measurements. You like measurements, so I thought I would share:
Stamp Sets: Happy Happenings, Happy Home Papers: Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Whisper White Inks: Basic Black Archival, Stampin’ Write Markers (Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso) Accessories: Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!

“And the Oscar goes to…..Brian King, for his performance in ‘Missing my Down Under Sheilas’.” You are hysterical, Mr. King. Now we are huffing and squinting, what next? Stay tuned.
Ha! Thanks, Deb. Glad you liked it. My good friend Louise gave me a challenge to use the word “Australia” in my video – seamless, huh? I had fun with it. 🙂
Well, I must say this helps a lot because I was wondering about coloring that little scene and coloring on stamps with markers is not my thing because it NEVER turns out right . Plus I just received an order yesterday with the Shimmer CS !! I guess the reason my marker/stamp technique never works is because I don`t huff enuff !! Well, it takes a lot of HOT AIR ! Thanks for the tips and trembling lips !!
You’ll love the Shimmery White cardstock, Sonny! Makes watercoloring and water-intensive projects so much easier. You can do it – you have enough hot air. 🙂
You are hereby renamed to Huff Daddy! Loved your video and, as always, incredible sense of creativity!
Huff Daddy – I like it. <3
Okay, just a little spooky. I use the same stamp in my blog today and also talked about marker to stamp – though not nearly as well as you did.Your video is again Oscar worthy! Thanks!
It’s such a sweet image! Glad you liked my card, Dianne. Yours is quite lovely, too!
And he huffed, and he puffed and he got the perfect stamped image!!!!!
Great card with this sweet stamp set Brian, that little bench is just adorable.
Thank you for all the “HOT AIR” on this video, LOL!!
Tee hee. Thanks, Maria! It was a fun experiment.
YOU CRACK ME UP! The “missing you” face is so so funny…great video.
Yay! Glad you liked it. It was a fun video to make. 🙂
I love it when I get to start the day with you right here in my craft room with me. You should have been an actor – you have all the facial expressions down pat! LOL This card is fabulous (hmm, I think I already told you that), but the video was still lots of fun to watch. Keep it up Mr. King – we love ya!
If I were just an actor, then who would share card ideas with you? I love that I can be both. 🙂 I adore you, Grace!
Great video Brian, really helpful. If I call you Huff Daddy I expect you to answer and not give me a “Huh, who?” look.
I will definitely answer to Huff Daddy, Robbye! 🙂
Hahahaha!! Love Louise’s dare! You added that in there seamlessly Brian. No one would have known you said the word Australia. Miss you lots – less than nighty days till we see you. Love your other Aussie mate.
