I took a little creative license with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches layout – and I hope Jen Mitchell approves. When I saw Jen’s super-simple sketch, I knew exactly what I would make. I decided on colors and immediately got to work on this card. By the end, though, I had flipped the sketch around and moved some things around. You can still see Jen’s sketch there…if you squint and stand back from your screen and turn your head a bit. 🙂 Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Products Used. This card starts with the joy of the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set and finishes with the fun of the Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set. I paired those with bright, colorful balloons from the Balloon Bouquet punch to complete the look.
- Balloon Strings. I’ve shared this before and can’t help but share it again – the easiest way to create fun balloon strings is with a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker. The good news? This is one of a few markers that are sold individually. Stock up on these, and you’ll not have to worry about your balloons strings any longer. You’re welcome – glad I could help.
- All Brights. I don’t typically draw all colors for a card from one color family. For this festive birthday card, though, the Brights just felt right. If you like this combination of vibrant colors, feel free to save this:
Stamp Sets: Remembering Your Birthday, Back to Basics Alphabet Papers: Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black, Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker Accessories: Balloon Bouquet punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with Jen’s fun challenge this week.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian
