All good things must come to an end. Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2016 In Colors will be going away* with the release of the new catalog in June, so it’s time to start preparing for their departure. After two years with these colors, we’ve grown to love them and instinctively reach for them. Some took longer to warm up to than others, but we still have to let them go.
*If there’s a color refresh, we might see some of these colors stick around, but we have no information to indicate they won’t be going away at the end of May.
In a series of posts over a couple of weeks, I’m sharing a look back at these in colors and sharing some color combinations I like for each. First, here’s a recap of the colors that will be retiring soon:
Lost Lagoon was an immediate favorite for me – somewhere between a soft blue and a deep blue, this misty, must shade makes me very, very happy. It pairs beautifully with bright colors, soft colors and neutrals. It’s aqua feel also gives a brilliant contrast with reds (Real Red and Cherry Cobbler). Lost Lagoon is a one of the only colors that can be used year-round – I’ve tended to gravitate toward that combination of colors. Whether you are creating gorgeous cards at Christmas or painting a Spring landscape, Lost Lagoon is your friend. While it was not often the focal color on a card, it always played well with others.

NOW’S THE TIME to stock up on everything Lost Lagoon (and the other great colors) – you can earn Sale-a-Bration credits for free product with your purchases AND the items are still orderable. As you may know from prior years, as soon as Stampin’ Up! releases the Retiring List, all of the retiring In Color products will go first. Here’s a quick rundown of some of my favorite Lost Lagoon items you could pick up now:
