Happy Easter – with a Funny Bunny

I have fond memories of Easter from my childhood.  My brothers and I were always dressed in matching outfits and staged in the front yard by the blooming azaleas.  With Easter arriving early this year, not all the flowers are in bloom, but the weather is getting there.  Do you remember the M&M’s commercials from the late ’70’s and early ’80’s?  If you don’t recall (or didn’t watch TV in the ’80’s), here’s a refresher:

That video just takes me back.  While I could watch this video over and over, there are two particular “scenes” that make me smile:

  • The two boys at the very end who are dressed as a chick and an egg, saying “Tank you Easter Bunny.  Bawk, bawk.”   I still repeat that every year at this time.
  • About mid-way through, there’s a big dog in bunny ears.  He seems so content.

Today’s Happy Easter card takes a bit of inspiration from the second scene mentioned above.  Here’s my FROG in a bunny costume to welcome Spring:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Playful Pals Stamp Set.  The Playful Pals bundle includes a photopolymer stamp set and a set of Thinlits dies so you can create adorable, 3-D pyramid animals.  I don’t make a lot of 3-D items, but I could certainly piece it all together to make a cute bunny frog with big, pink ears.  Here’s a look at the items in this bundle, along with a couple of cute animals made with these products:

  • A Multitude of Products.  I used more than just the Playful Pals to pull together this fun Easter card, though.  Just look how seamlessly the “OH, HELLO” from Honeycomb Happiness pairs with “SPRING” from Crazy About You.  What a find!  While there’s no green or blue in this piece of Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack, it serves as a lovely backdrop for this fun frog. • Sweet Colors.  I just love this combination of sweet, soft colors.  Aren’t they perfect for Easter?  The frog inspired the soft green, the bunny ears inspired the pink.  The blue just came out of necessity.  If you like this combination of colors, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up!
