A Rose Wonder Thank You for FMS232

A couple of weeks ago, I stated here that I don’t use flowers a lot.  I’m starting to think I don’t know who I am because I am using them a lot.  While I wouldn’t classify many of my cards as “floral” they definitely have more flowers than I would think.  🙂

Narelle Farrugia is hosting this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, and her sketch puts the power of design in our hands.  Two bands on the front of a card and a sentiment.  That’s it.  I created a soft, sweet thank you card with Rose Wonder and the Remarkable You stamp sets.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Perfect Pairing.  The beautifully modern and sketched flower from Remarkably You and the gorgeous “thank you” sentiment from Rose Wonder pair perfectly with one another.  Add in these wonderful shapes from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, and I think you’ve got a match made in Heaven.  Everything feels so pretty – yet it’s all so modern and fresh.  I love this pairing of great products.

  Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies

• Coloring the Flower.  Yes, I stamped the flower on Pink Pirouette and snipped it out.  First, though, I fussy colored (is that a word?) the flower with a Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker.  The marker adds depth and texture to the pink cardstock.  I didn’t worry about coloring all the pieces of this sketchy flower, which only adds to the artistic feel of the whole thing.  Same with the snipping – I didn’t have to get a completely clean cut because the image is stamped under it, too.  What fun!
• A Beautiful Color Pairing.  Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray pair perfectly – the deep gray really brings out the grays in this soft pink.  A touch of dusty Pear Pizzazz really makes this combination complete.  If you like these colors together, too, feel free to save this for inspiration:
