Marquee Messages – Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek

*SNEAK PEEK*  *SNEAK PEEK*  Do you like a Sneak Peek?  I can hardly contain my excitement over the card I get to share with you today.  Attendees at last week’s Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage (Convention) received lots of great products from the upcoming 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  Because I wasn’t able to attend the event, I received none.  Isn’t that just about the saddest thing you’ve ever heard?!?  BUT Pam, my wonderful upline, was at the amazing event – and she came back to Atlanta with goodies to share.  I was able to play around with a couple of great new sets, and I’ll be sharing the projects with you this week.  Here’s my card:

Marquee Messages, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Sneak Peek

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Marquee Messages.  Marquee Messages is an amazing photopolymer set that features a wonderfully retro marquee and a whole bunch of sentiments that make it perfect for many occasions.  The marquee is one stamp – and all the words can be combined to create a number of great sentiments – You are awesome, You are invited, It’s your birthday – and lots of coordinating taglines.  I love the retro feel of this set!  I mean, really!  How adorable is this set?Marquee Messages, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Sneak Peek
  • Snip to My Loo.  You know I don’t have any problems pulling out my paper snips when a snipping project calls me.  These bold shapes are super-easy to stamp, snip, and paper-piece together.  I stamped this image on Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party.  I snipped the Pool Party panel and glued it on top of the Whisper White piece.  I snipped the Daffodil Delight arrow and glued it down, too (along with the two Daffodil Delight stars).  Such a colorful and fun way to give this project a real “wow!”  I colored parts of the Whisper White with Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Markers to support the bold, snipped panels.  If you missed my video about paper piecing, you can see it here.
  • Bright, Crisp Color Combination.  Is there a color that doesn’t pair well with Pool Party?  It looks perfect with other blues and deep, rich colors.  It pairs gorgeously with reds and oranges.  When paired with bright yellow, Pool Party looks smart and modern.  If you like this combination of colors, too, feel free to save this: Stampin' Up! Color Inspriation: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
