DAY FIVE: Spring 2016 One-for-One Swaps

DAY FIVEI’ve had so much fun sharing the one-for-one swaps I received at the end of April – who knew there’d be so many?!  Now that they’ve all been delivered, I’m happy to be showcasing your wonderful work here. This Spring One-for-One Swap was filled with beautiful inspiration, and I know you’re going to love these projects.

If you missed the past days of these swaps, be sure to check them out here:

I love these swaps because they showcase beautiful projects from cardmakers at ALL SKILL LEVELS – some are brand new to the craft, and others have been creating for years.  Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).

If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment on the card when it debuts here.  That way, the creator of that card will be sure to see your comments.

The collection of cards might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques.  They are sure to inspire you.  Without any further ado, here is the next batch of your beautiful cards:

  8. Wow another super batch of cards today. So many techniques I want to try. Brenda’s embossing and coloring, Donna’s peacock and Holly and Karen’s flowers just to name a few. Pinning now.

  11. So much inspiration here! It was fun to see my upline Brenda’s card today. LOVE the sentiment curving around the flower! As usual, always impressing me with her classy cards. Thanks so much for hosting, Brian! Such fun.

  12. What lovely cards! Way to go everyone!

I especially love Marcia’s idea of combining the tree punch with the leaflets framelit dies. That gives the trees a whole new look! Awesome!

Linda’s card is another favorite, perfectly combining simplicity and elegance!

Brenda’s card has such a nice play between soft colors and shapes with bold black accents tying everything together.

  13. Each card is so pretty. I love the entire bunch from wonderfully creative people, who inspire me to try new things. Thanks to those who made the cards and thank you, Brian, for sharing all of their work. It would definitely be difficult for me to choose my favorite.

  14. Great bunch of cards again, I love the tea-riffic teapots and the clean design by Sacha. Still hard to wait to see the one I received so I can comment on it! How soon before you host the next one? 🙂

  15. Another batch of wonderful cards! Love all the tea bags hanging out of Cameron’s teapot……fun!

    • Those little dangling tea bags are just as cute in person. You can’t tell by the pictures but the tea pot is shiny silver paper.

  16. Amazing, just amazing the amount of talent these people have. It is so inspiring to see what people all over the U.S. and outside of it produce with a little ink and a few stamps.

I was totally blown away with Donna Lathrops peacock card. It was just so elegant. Don’t get me wrong they are all gorgeous but that one really was an eye catcher for me. Great job everyone and Brian, thanks. I know that must have been a time consuming task for you.

  17. I was the lucky recipient of Brenda’s card. It is beautifully done–even prettier in person. All of the cards in the swap have been fabulous. Thanks, Brian.

    • Brenda Sprenger

Glad you liked my card Alene! And guess what? I received your card too. I have been watching every day in anticipation of it appearing on Brian’s Blog.

  18. Very happy to have received Cindy Henry’s beautiful, colorful and lovely card !! Love the colors she used. Thank you Cindy!!
All the cards are very nice and creative again today!
    Thanks Brian for sharing !

  19. I didn’t get to comment on the card I received from day one as it hadn’t arrived before it went “live”, but it was wonderful and from Heidi Wolters.
I had fun making my card and love to see everyone’s beautiful creations. Since I live in Hawaii, it takes a while for things to get here but I love following your blog and seeing all the great ideas.

  20. Catherine Kraft

Beautiful cards, all of them are absolutely fabulous. I’ve been trying to figure out hope the peacock was done. Please share.

  21. I was the lucky recipient of the card from Karen Osborne! It looks even better in person; thanks Karen!

  22. Cameron….I loved my card. Very tea-riffic. 🙂 How did you get the brick wall the color it is??? Not sure of your technique. Donna I also love your Peacock. I never thought of stamping it in white. Very nice. Marcia…I like your trees and will have to try that technique. Maria…your card is beautiful as always. Linda’s card makes me want to buy the stamp set.
Everyone did a great job..But my favorite of course was the one I received. Thanks Cameron.

  23. I have a question about masking. I think I understand the concept of the process but I have a blank area next to the masked one that does not stamp with the color of the “background” stamp. How do you avoid that?? I do use a post-it note….is there something thinner that you use other then a regular post-it note. Help!!!!!!

    • Karen, If you aren’t getting the result you want, you can use thinner paper (copy paper works great!) or even a product called masking paper. You can also try using a pierce mat behind the paper to add a little bit of cushion. I’m not sure there’s a way to get a 100% clean line, but those will help.

  24. Beautiful parade of cards! Imagine my surprise when I received Linda Callahan’s card- I mean, a card from one of my “favoritest” designers out there! I loved the card and am proudly displaying it on my shelf to make me smile each day!
