Awesomely Artistic

My customers have begun to receive their 2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, and the feedback has been tremendous (but I already knew it would be).  The launch of a new catalog is always accompanied by mixed emotions.  While we are super-excited about all the new products in the upcoming catalog, we begin to mourn the passing of some of our favorites as they go away.  Today’s project includes a sentiment from a host set that will soon go away and a background panel from a Designer Series Paper Stack that, in my opinion, should stay forever and ever.  Here’s my soft and sweet card:

Awesomely Artistic, Best Thoughts, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP034 Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Awesomely Artistic.  While May offers your last chance to earn Best Thoughts (as a host set that’s available with purchases over $150) and the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack (best paper ever), the soft focal image of flowers on this card is carrying over into the new catalog.  While I wouldn’t normally classify the weathered and vintage images in Awesomely Artistic as a set that fits with my clean-and-simple style, this arrangement of flowers is gorgeous as a supporting character to this amazing sentiment on this clean-and-simple card.

  • Heat Embossed.  You might not be able to tell from the picture at the top of my post, but this card has a little pizzazz that makes it super-special.  After I stamped these leaves with Mint Macaron (after stamping off once or twice) and this sentiment with Night of Navy, I covered the entire front of this Whisper White panel with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  After heating it with my Heat Tool, the entire panel was glossy and beautiful.  Boy, did that add some extra shine?  Awesomely Artistic, Best Thoughts, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP034I then added three pearls on either side of the sentiment, arranging them randomly, to add a little more texture to this card.
  • Color Combination.  I just adore these colors together.  The regal, bold Night of Navy is softened a bit by the sweet Mint Macaron.  The dark blue is further softened by the vast amount of Whisper White on this card.  If you like this combination of colors, too, please save this:Stampin' Up! 7. Hi Brian,
Just wondering if you are going to have sample orders for this catalog. I enjoy getting small sizes of different things so we know what we want to order. Thanks.

  8. So pretty Brian! How did you do this technique to the entire card front panel? Did you use Versa Mark with a sponge before adding the clear embossing powder?

  9. Simply beautiful!
