Sneak Peek of Layering Love for PPA302

I love the moments right before a new catalog launches – when I can pair retiring products with sneak peeks of new products.  For this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch, I combined a new stamp set (Layering Love) with retiring Designer Series Paper (Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper).  A sweet sentiment needs a sweet paper – and these are a perfect match.  Here’s my card:

Layering Love, Something to Say, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PPA302And here’s Nicole Watt’s sketch that inspired my card:

  • Layering Love.  This is the second (of four) stamps from this set that I’ve shared with you.  The first was on Monday’s Swirly Bird project for Global Design Project (see it here).  All four of these sentiments are designed to fit neatly inside our new layering framelits (squares, circles, ovals and hearts), and each sentiment is perfectly sweet.  Of the four, this is my favorite saying.  You know how much I love uplifting and love-confirming sentiments, right?  “I am much more me when I am with you” just about says it all, huh?  Here’s a peak at the other images in this incredible set:

  • Flipping for this sketch.  All of the essential elements of Nicole’s sketch are found in my card, but I moved some of them around a bit.  My artistic license allows me to do that.  🙂  After trying to exactly fit her brilliant sketch, I decided to flip it upside down so that my sentiment (the focal point of my card) would be on the top.  To balance it all out, I positioned the circle between the two lines and added a small heart from Something to Say stamp set (and punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack).  With those small changes, everything came together in a balanced card.  That makes for a very happy Brian!
  • Sweet Color Combination.  With all the combinations of Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride – I’ve used them a lot this year – I thought, for sure, I’d have already shared this simple color combination with you.  Alas, I have not.  When you want a sweet color combination, the pairing of Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Whisper White will never lead you astray.  Feel free to save this off for future reference:Stampin' Up!
