Vintage Leaves for FabFri93

Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog is filled to the brim with amazing products for the upcoming Winter months.  There are not a lot of Fall-themed sets (although there are plenty of Thanksgiving images and sentiments dispersed throughout the book.  This week’s sketch from FabFriday encouraged me to pull out my trustworthy friend and well-loved stamp set Vintage Leaves.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Two Fall Favorites.  My card today features two fall-themed stamp sets that were introduced in yester-years but that are just as fun and exciting today.  Vintage Leaves is perhaps one of the most beautiful stamp sets I’ve ever worked with.  It doesn’t take much work to stamp a beautiful image with gorgeous texture – and the coordinating Leaflets Framelits are a super-handy bonus!  Acorny Thank You (as the name implies) is a much more “cutesy” stamp set – but this sentiment works beautifully with the leaf and these gorgeous panels of Moroccan Designer Series Papers – the set also coordinates with the Acorn Builder Punch.  What great products!

  • Delightful Dijon.  I’ll be honest – I’ve not been very excited about Delightful Dijon, one of the 2015-2017 In Colors.  I’ve always been slow to adopt the yellows.  The Moroccan Designer Series Paper, which features Delightful Dijon, started to shift my thinking a bit, but this year’s Holiday Catalog has changed my mind.  I think I’m in love with this rich, dark yellow.  Believe it or not, Delightful Dijon is featured in TWO Christmas papers – and its incorporation into both is quite stunning.  If you have not loved this yellow, be prepared to change your mind – consider this your warning.  🙂Delightful Dijon
  • Fall Colors.  Do these colors say Fall, or what?  I pulled the Early Espresso, Delightful Dijon and Very Vanilla out of this thin strip of Moroccan Designer Series Paper and then didn’t use another color.  The panel of Very Vanilla around the central panel helps to lighten the overall feel of the card and pushes your eye toward the warm colors featured on the main panel.  If you like these colors, please save this:Stampin' Up! Love the layers and the richness of the colors. Although not my favorite color I learned to like it because I love the condiment! I saw some sneak peeks and was surprised at that color for Christmas. I guess I need to see it up close and in person. Ahhh, gorgeous card!
