XOX – for the Paper Players

It’s February 1 – can you believe it?!  Joanne James has a fun sketch for us this week at the Paper Players.  I play along with these challenges as often as I can, but I especially like this sketch.  It gave me a perfect opportunity to create a fun Valentine’s Day card that (not by design) has no stamping on it.  I used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and Large Letters Framelits Dies to create this fun card:

PP329Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Playing with the Sketch.  While I love how Joanne’s sketch includes two panels that are divided by four shapes, I couldn’t make my vision work on paper.  As such, I switched things up to make them work for me – the inspiration is still there, though.  I changed the orientation of the card from landscape to portrait and dropped my shapes a bit as they were so narrow that they became muddled on the busy paper I chose to use.  I love that sketches can be recreated literally or can be used for inspiration.
  • Sending Love.  I’ve used this paper before (and I’ll definitely use it again), but I really love this Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack.  It’s been very popular with my customers over the past couple of weeks – they know that February 14 is just around the corner, and they will be ready with the papers they need.  I paired a white-based pattern with a red-based pattern to keep things perfectly balanced.Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Letters for You Bundle.  I have gotten a lot of great use out of the The Large Letters Framelits Dies Bundle.  Yes – it’s the single most expensive item in any of our current catalogs, but it’s SO worth it.  AND during Sale-a-Bration you automatically earn TWO free Sale-a-Bration items when you buy they bundle and you are really close to another one.  🙂  If you’ve been holding off, this might be the Valentine’s Day gift idea you’ve been looking for:
