Paisleys & Posies for CTS206

When new products arrive, we tend to see them in the season they showcase.  The Paisleys & Posies stamp set premiered in the 2016 Holiday Catalog with rich, festive Fall colors.  Since this stamp set is still available, I thought I’d showcase it with fresh, spring colors and a Valentine’s Day twist.  Here’s my fresh retake on Paisleys & Posies:

CTS207Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Still Available!  There are many items from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog that are perfectly suited for this time of year – AND they are still available to order from the Holiday Catalog Carryover list.  Paisleys & Posies (and the coordinating Paisley Framelits) are still active products, which might mean that they will carry over into the next Annual Catalog.  Why wait, though, when you can order them now?  I’ve included a list of most of the carry over items at the base of this post – take a look and earn Sale-a-Bration credits on these items that you didn’t pick up last Fall.

  • Organized Chaos.  I find “collage stamping” a bit challenging.  I typically line up everything “just so” and keep the randomness to a minimum.  For this sketch, though, I felt like a splattering of these images would be perfect.  There’s no chaos to the spattering, though.  I started with three large shapes in Blushing Bride.  Attached to each Blushing Bride shape, I added the second-largest shape in Soft Sky.  That was followed by three of the third-largest shape in Sahara Sand.  If you look long enough, you’ll see that all three of those shapes are connected in a cluster.  I then added smaller shapes in Soft Sky and Blushing Bride, stamping those around (but not connected to) the three clusters.  This helped to connect the clusters without actually connecting them and created a bit of balance on my card.  What do you think?
  • Soft and Sweet.  I lifted the colors for my card straight out of the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  What soft, sweet colors!  In fact, these are the three colors that make up the Cardstock Pack that accompanies the papers.  If you feel inspired by this combination, please save this:Stampin' Up!
