So In Love for GDP074

Have you flipped through the pages of Stampin’ Up!’s Falling in Love Designer Series Paper?  The colors in this pack of papers are gorgeous – soft hues that are grounded with Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla.  My card today features one of the all-neutral pages from that pack – I accented these colors with thin borders of Basic Black.  Here’s my card for this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge:

So In Love, Lace Doilies, Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP074

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:GDP074Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Falling In Love/So In Love.  I’ve created several cards with this gorgeous pack of papers.  It was one of the first packs I was excited to open.  I’m more often drawn to bright colors, but the soft colors (Blushing Bride and Soft Sky) are perfect here.  I love that Sahara Sand plays such an important role, too.  Just take a look at these gorgeous pages:  Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, Stampin 'Up!, Brian KingIf you want to see my color guides for all the other Designer Series Papers, click here.  My sentiment is pulled from So In Love stamp set – I just love this beautiful script:

  • That Detail Accent.  Do you recognize the detailed cutout behind the “so in love” circle?  If you don’t already have the Lace Doilies from Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog, then you might not have recognized it.  I simply placed the 1-1/8″ Layering Circle Framelits Die over the doily and voila!  Not only are these doilies sturdy (these aren’t cropped from flimsy, thin papers), but they are double-sided.  One side is Whisper White, and the other is Very Vanilla.  Perfection!

  • A Neutral Palette.  This card features some beautiful neutrals.  That might be why I love it so much – it’s a departure from my norm.  The combination of Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla and Basic Black can be somber or sophisticated – with at pairing!  If you like this combination, too, please save this:Stampin' Up!
