Going Green for the Paper Players

When I sat down to make my card for this week’s Paper Players Green-and-White Color Challenge, I missed my opportunity to make a St. Patrick’s Day card.  I immediately knew which paper and stamp set I wanted to use, so I didn’t even think about the upcoming holiday.   ***Taking all of that back***  Today I’m excited to share a card that was created as a “thank you” for the St. Patrick’s Day gifts I’ll surely receive tomorrow:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Scenic Sayings.  Scenic Sayings is one of the first stamp sets I ordered from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  I love the big, bold sentiments and reach for them often.  While I’vust what I wanted – bold words with open spaceds I could color in.e pulled Scenic Sayings from my stamp shelf several times over the past year, I was surprised to find that today is the first time I’ve actually inked it up.  The “Thank You So Much” sentiment gave me just wanted – a bold sentiment with an open space I could color in.  PLUS – it looks so great for my “St. Patrick’s Day Thank You” project.

  • A Little Coloring.  I stamped this fun sentiment right on the page of Mint Macaron and Whisper White Flowers with my Archival Basic Gray ink pad.  Once that ink dried, I colored in the “thank” and the “you” with a Mint Macaron.  The additional ink looks great against the background of the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series paper page.
  • Simple Color Combination.  I used Basic Gray to accent the Mint Macaron and white in this card.  Such a simple color combination – the dusty Mint Macaron (please don’t go, Mint Macaron!) looks crisp against white and dustier against gray.  If you like this combination, too, please save this:Stampin' Up! Well, I can CASE this card as I surely (I had better) will receive some birthday cards and gifts tomorrow since it is also “me” birthday! Of course, cards and gifts will be greatly accepted past the 17th! I made 17 cards for the occasion. I am sorry I had to use yours for one of our former minister’s wife who celebrates the same birthday. I didn’t think you would mind too much since it was for her. Such a fun touch to color in the thank you part after stamping – it really makes it stand out. I really like the color combo today.

  7. I hope made more than one of these Brian – not just because it’s cute but clearly for all the gifts you’ll be receiving to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!!! Love the grey with the muted mint green. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!
