SNEAK PEEK – Crafting Forever

I was so excited to attend Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage in Savannah early this month – not only was I able to see new products and flip through the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, but I had plenty of time to hang out with my amazing team members who attended the Savannah event.  I shared a writeup of the event (with lots of pictures) in my post on Tuesday – if you missed it, you can see it here.

Look at me!  Always the professional – never cutting up or getting into trouble.  While at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event, I was also fortunate to be an on-stage presenter.  I was given a little bit of time to showcase a wonderful, new stamp set called Crafting Forever, an Angel Policy stamp set.  Lucky for me – it’s one of my favorite sets in the new catalog.  In a few posts over the next week, I’ll share my projects with you, too!

Here’s a peek at Crafting Forever:

Crafting Forever stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI mean, really!  Look at all this yumminess – pens, snips, twine, craft supplies.  And the sentiments in this set are NOT to be missed – what a wonderful collection for almost any occasion.  Regardless of whether it was intentionally designed this way, this stamp set documents our journey as paper-crafters.   Who didn’t begin their journey into card making and scrapbooking with a love of school supplies and office supplies?  These pens are just beautiful!  Then came snips and stamps and ribbons.  The more we make, the more comfortable we feel creating, and we eventually explore new artistic mediums like watercoloring.

Here’s a sweet-and-simple card I made with the ink pens – I stamped them in Archival Basic Black, lining them up with my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  What a beautiful row of pens – don’t you think they are gorgeous in black-and-white?

Crafting Forever, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI glued down this panel of Whisper White and then added tiny strips of Basic Black cardstock to either side – it gives the illusion of a layer that’s not really there.  I added this sweet banner with a sentiment from Picture Perfect (retiring with the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog).

While I thought this card showcased the pens perfectly, I wanted to see how different it would look when the pens were colored.  I used Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach, Smoky Slate and Sweet Surgarplum Stampin’ Write Markers to color the detailed images to create this colorful, vibrant card:

Crafting Forever, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI really can’t decide which one I like best.  I really, really love the pens just stamped in black, but there are also so many ways to color these fun pens!  Which do you like best?

Stampin’ Up!’s Angel Policy

So, what is an Angel Policy?  If you sell projects made with Stampin’ Up! images, you should add one of Stampin’ Up!’s “(c) Stampin’ Up!” sentiments to the project (like the back of a card).  If you’d like to read the entire policy, CLICK HERE.

I have more projects to share with you and will share them over the next week.  I hope you’ll come back!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I love the card you made just using the black ink. This will be one of the stamp set I place on my first order

  2. Love both of them.

  3. The black and white version is very elegant, well done Brian! 🙂

  4. I like the second one…the colors just pop!!!

  5. Both versions of this new stamp set are outstanding. Love the crisp black and white. However, the WOW! of the colorful version is amazing!

  6. I love the black and white. Is that Calypso Coral? I just recently (re)discovered that color and I’m loving it! Can’t understand why I overlooked it for so long…..

  7. Oh my goodness!!!!! I already know this set will be at the top of my first order the moment it’s available, I love, love each and every beautiful image.
Thank you for the sneak peek Brian, your cards just made me want it even more.
    Big hugs,
    Maria.

  8. The colors on the pens are great, but my personal preference is for the crisp black and white. but, you can’t go wrong with either one!

  9. What a sharp card! This stamp set has so much potential, I’ll be looking forward to its release. Nice job Brian.

  10. Great cards. The black and white on the red background is my favorite. This is a fun set. Can’t wait to see all the creative ideas using this set.

  11. SU picked the right guy for the job. I love both cards and will be CASEing the B&W one to send to my son who is a great writer.

  12. LOVE that picture of you with the camera man ! I really like both of your creations because I could choose which to send to whoever I know that prefer colors over the sharp black and white . This stamp set is perfect for all of us that create ,collect (hoard ) and love this “stuff” !!!
    FUN!!!

  13. When I scrolled to the b/w card I thought it stunning but like Mary, when I scrolled on down to the colored version I said “WOW” that is awesome.

  14. Enabler! I think I like the black and white one, but it would be fun to package up several black and white ones with a set of markers to give as a gift to a friend who likes to color😀

What a wonderful card!!! Love how you showed the difference a little coloring makes. Both cards are wonderful!!! I think the black and white pens just might be my favorite!!! Though, not by much…

  16. you are the Master of card making. LUV both versions. but the color one writes volumes to my heart.

  17. I like both cards, but the black and white pens really pop. I was wondering if that was an exacto knife (with the blade sticking up) in the flower pot full of brushes and pens? eeks if the artist was drawing his/her own pot full of brushes and pens, and a blade was tucked in there! lol

    • Lynne, Yes! There’s a little cutting blade and a pencil in with the brushes. In my mind’s eye, there’s a clear cover over the blade so that no one gets injured. 🙂

  18. I hope they made a gazillion of this set because I can tell it’s going to be a best seller for sure! The black and white card is beautiful but the colored card is sensational. I love the variety of colors you used and the way you used them. I think the sayings included in this set a fabulous. I’m am really getting itchy to see the new catty. Thanks for this preview my friend, you are amazing.

  19. Chris R. from Iowa

Look at all the fun comments you have received! I really like both cards but the black and white version is my favorite. If my uncle was alive, I would have made him the colorful version. He used to work for the Shaeffer (sp?) Pen Co. who used to make all those wonderful pens with the nibs and stuff that were classics. I bet your presentation was well received and inspiring!

  20. The card I like best is the one I am looking at! They are both divine and I can’t wait to see what is coming.

  21. Brian I’m sure your presentation was a big hit! These cards are adorable, both the black & white and colors are great for different occasions. Just a Note is a perfect sentiment. Makes a perfect gift.

  22. I’m sure you rocked Onstaged with your amazing presentation and razor sharp wit. I adore you and wish I was in Savannah to see you. Both cards are gorgeous of course. xo

  23. Both are just awesome! Love ’em!

  24. Wow! I thought the first card was awesome and saw the next one with all the intricate details coloured in – double wow!

  25. Love both of these cards and love this set! So grateful for your generosity in gifting it to me! (hugs)

  26. Both cards are great, Brian. It would be difficult to choose my favorite. This is a fabulous set and something I haven’t seen from other companies so far this season.

  27. Brian my friend you as COOL AS A CUCUMBER
