SNEAK PEEK – This Little Piggy for CTS221

I love playing around with new products – it’s one of the great perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – and I can’t wait for you to be able to get your hands on the amazing, new products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog.  I used three new products to make this super-sweet card for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Three New Products.  There are three new products in this card – can you name all three?  Of course you can – you’re so smart.  You also know that I’m going to showcase them for you, one by one, so that you don’t have to prove yourself.  I’m excited about all three of these new products and can’t wait for you to get them, too!  The first (and most obvious) is the new stamp set, This Little Piggy – a collection of adorable pigs doing adorable things:  My card also features Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper – such a beautiful pack of papers with beautiful designs.  The Old Olive band across the front of the card has a watercolored appeal – I love that look:  The third item (that you might have looked past because the first two stand out so boldly) is one of Stampin’ Up!’s new In Colors – Powder Pink.  I used this soft pink to watercolor the sweet pig:Did you get them all?  I knew you would.  <3
• Watercoloring Piggy.  I stamped this adorable, dancing pig with Archival Basic Gray ink on Watercolor Paper and let it dry overnight (you can paint on it earlier, but I didn’t want to push it).  I am not an expert watercolorer, but this was really easy.  I got my AquaPainter brush good and wet with a little squeeze on the water chamber and dipped it into the lid of my ink pad.  I painted along the edges of the pig and then came back with lighter amount of ink for the middle.  It’s subtle, but fun.  The effect pairs well with the watercolored appeal of the Delightful Daisy paper.
• Spring Colors.  This card features three colors that yell “SPRING!” – but in a soft, sweet voice.  Each symbolizes something Spring-like in this card.  Old Olive and Soft Sky symbolize grass and sky in this card.  Melon Mambo symbolizes happiness.  If you, too, enjoy this combination of colors, please save this:
