SNEAK PEEK – At Home with You for FMS288

Are you stuck here?  Something happened on May 20 – and we can’t exactly pinpoint what it was – that has caused some people’s browsers to be stuck on this blog post.  I like this card, but you certainly don’t want to be stuck here forever, do you?  If you are stuck on this page when you go to stampwithbrian.com, please clear the cache on your computer – and everything will be good again (at least that’s been the fix for a handful of folks who’ve reached out to me).  Google “how to clear cache” (something you should do every once in a while to reduce data saved on your computer) to see what that looks like for your browser.  I hope that helps!

You can also subscribe to my blog to receive a daily email (full post is in the email) that takes you right to that day’s post.

Please let me know if this works for you!

Today’s card showcases an amazing, new bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog – At Home with You.  There’s a big and beautiful door with all the fixin’s for any occasion.  As you dress this door up for every holiday, it takes on a life of its own.  Such a great bundle.  Here’s a card I made for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

At Home with You, At Home Framelits, Mixed Borders, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS288

And here’s the banner for Jen Mitchell’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch that inspired my card:

Here’s a fun video that Stampin’ Up! produced to showcase this amazing bundle:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • At Home with You Bundle.  I stamped the door on Wood Textures Designer Series Paper with Early Espresso ink – what an easy way to create a beautiful texture on this door!  This paper stack is really amazing!Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI then cropped the door outline with the door Framelits from the At Home with You Framelits – there’s a die to also crop the opened door, but I didn’t do that on this card.  I also cropped the windows with a Thinlit included in the bundle.  I cropped the door outline again on Thick Whisper White and then glued the door to the white cardstock.  Easy!  just look at all the options with these Framelits and stamps:

  • I Simply Adore You, Mixed Borders.  Did you catch the “big funny” in my card?  Yes, it’s a door.  Yes, it says “I simply adore you.”  Say that slowly, you’ll begin to laugh uncontrollably, saying, “Oh, Brian!  What a hoot!  You are such a creative and funny and wonderful guy…and handsome.”  I adore Mixed Borders and thought I’d enjoy playing with the long, thin borders that are designed to showcase these sentiments.  Instead, I’ve mostly used these beautiful, fun sentiments.  This set is retiring – and there’s only a short amount of time left to pick it up:

  • Warm Colors.  A warm, welcoming door deserves a warm, welcoming backdrop.  I chose Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso to showcase this door.  No matter what time of year, this is a winning combination.  If you agree, please save this for future inspiration:Stampin' Up!
