Cool as Can Be

Boy, do I have a fun card to share with you today!  This morning, I’m headed to the Atlanta airport to begin my trip to Thailand for Stampin’ Up!’s Incentive Trip.  What fun!  As I shared with you last week, this has been a bucket list trip for me.  The loooong plane flight will be brutal (my 6′ 5″ frame doesn’t fold into a plane seat very well), but I’m excited to be there.  I have a feeling I’ll love this trip!

While I’m on vacation, my blog posts will still be running – I’ve worked hard over the past couple of weeks to make sure you get fresh, new fun content each and every day.  When I’m back, I’ll certainly share pictures and tales of my travels.  Before that, though, I promise to deliver great inspiration and fun project.s

To kickoff my cool travels, here’s a fun card with the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set:

Pocketful of Sunshine, Cool Treats, Dare to Dream, Diagonal Stripe, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle.  While my card doesn’t really showcase all of the amazing and fun elements in the Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle, the glasses on my card give you a hint at all the fun that’s in the bundle.  I mean, how cool are they?  Here’s a look at this fun, new bundle:  Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle, Stampin' Up!And here’s a fun sample with this bundle:
  • Real Red Colored Glasses.  Want to know how I created these spectacles?  I stamped the glasses with Archival Basic Black ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock – this gave me the outline of the glasses and the inside of the lenses.  I applied red to the glasses with a Sponge Brayer.  To make sure the ink was applied like I wanted, I rolled the brayer in different directions.  I snipped around the glasses (not a lot to snip) and then glued them down to a cutout of the glasses from the coordinating Framelits.  That gave me a white border, instead of the border that had turned red when I sponged the glasses.Pocketful of Sunshine, Cool Treats, Dare to Dream, Diagonal Stripe, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Fun Sentiment.  “You are cool as can be” is perfect for these fun glasses and diagonal stripes, don’t you think?  “You are” and “as can be” are both from Dare to Dream, a Host Set in the 2017 Annual Catalog.  If you’d like to read more about these Host Sets and how you can earn them, CLICK HERE.  “COOL” is from Cool Treats, an ice cream-themed set carried over from the 2017 Occasions Catalog.
  • Color Combination.  This card features a [sort of] red, white and blue combination that I really love.  I’ve come back to this combo many times over the years (usually during Christmas), so it’s fun to return to it for this fun summer card.  If you like the combination of Real Red, Island Indigo and Whisper White, please save this:Stampin' Up! Once I received it I found there is a ton more of stuff I can do with it then even I thought. I can’t believe that anyone wouldn’t want to have it. Your card is fabulous as always. Enjoy your trip Brian, you worked hard to earn it and I’m sure you will get to see all your stamping friends while you are gone.
