Lemon Zest & a Whole Lot of Lovely

I’m home from my amazing journey to Thailand!  What a once-in-a-lifetime experience!  I’ll be sharing stories and pictures this week, but I have a fun card to share first.  I paired sentiments from the Lemon Zest stamp set with the oranges in the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  What fun!  Here’s my card:

  • Simple Panels.  I love to create cards with simple panels that showcase either beautiful designs or gorgeous colors.  Sometimes a panel of solid color can give a perfect matting to a card.  For this card, which features a fun sentiment from Lemon Zest and a small orange from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, I let a large piece of orange-filled paper provide a great background.  I cut the front panel tall and thin to let the oranges show through as best I could.  What fun!
  • Whole Lot of Lovely.  I love the patterns in the new Whole Lot of Lovey Designer Series Paper. As I was first flipping through the pages of this gorgeous paper, I wondered how I could use this page of oranges – it’s been in the back of my mind since I first saw the paper.  This citrus-themed sentiment from Lemon Zest pairs perfectly with the oranges in this paper, don’t you think?  I snipped one of the smaller oranges from the paper for an accent on the front panel of the card.  Here’s a look at the pages in this paper:Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!
  • Three Colors I Love.  Each of the three colors featured in this card (pulled right from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper) are former My Current Favorite Color designees.  There was a time when I couldn’t use enough Pool Party, and I think I incorporated Tangerine Tango into every project for a three-month stretch a while back.  You know how that goes, right?  🙂  If you like this combination of blue, orange and green, please save this:Stampin' Up! I love this card. It is simple but makes a big impact and I want to CASE it as soon as my Lemon Zest arrives. I am writing up my cutting instructions so I’ll be ready and just wanted to check one of my measurements. I am guessing the Whisper White panel is about 2 x 3 -3/4 . Does that seem right? Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
