Be Inspired Blog Hop – Architecture

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun!  The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you.  I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

The theme for today’s Be Inspired Hop is “Architecture.”  Architecture?!  It might seem a bit crazy at first, but there are really a lot of great ways to go with this fun theme.  I opted to make a sweet housewarming card with the Home Life bundle.  If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from a visit with my adorable Aussie friend Louise Sharp at louisesharp.com.  She only shares amazing things!

Here’s my card:

Home Life, Lovely Friends, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, houswarming card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Home Life Bundle.  This stamp set and coordinating are just amazing!  Three photopolymer stamps, filled with flowers and leaves, build the framework of this house.  Not only can you stamp all three and cut them out with the house-shaped Framelit, but there’s also a die that allows you to just cut out the flowers.  It’s easy to switch up the colors of the flowers, so I made my popped-up flowers Melon Mambo.  In addition to building the house, there’s a sweet pot, hanging pot and fun flowers, too.  Here’s a look at this must-have bundle:

  • Multiple Dies and Video.  After I stamped the three images to create the shape of the home, I stamped stamped the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist, the flowers in Daffodil Delight and the background fill in Pool Party), I stamped the flowers again in Melon Mambo.  I used the die to crop out the flowers from the design and popped them up with Mini Dimensionals.  Stampin’ Up! created a super-fun and super-helpful video to showcase this bundle.  Have a look-see:

  • Balancing it Out with Lovely Friends.  When I tried to add a long, slender sentiment below the house, the house got pushed up so much that everything fell off balance.  What to do?!  Rather than cover over this gorgeous display of flowers with a big banner, I added the “oh so happy” sentiment from Lovely Friends and cropped it with a 2-3/8″ Circle punch.  What an easy accent and great way to add a sentiment!  It allowed me to center this house on the card – just like I wanted.

Stamp Sets:  Home Life, Lovely Friends  Papers:  Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack, Pool Party, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo  Accessories:  Welcome Home Framelits Dies, 1-3/8″ Circle punch, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
