SNEAK PEEK: Labels to Love

I love to buy stamping supplies (I’m not going to lie to you), but I am really happy to buy versatile products that I can use all year long.   Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog supplies us with some great, new products that are perfect for the upcoming Fall holidays but that will also be perfect for the months that follow.  Today’s card showcases a punch and stamp set that are sure to be a hit!  Here’s my card:

Labels to Love, Everyday Label Punch, Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Everyday Label Punch and Labels to Love.  My heart beats faster when I open up a brand new punch – I love each and every one, but I REALLY love when I have lots of option for using the punch.  When I first saw the Everyday Label Punch (we were given one during our Thailand trip), I knew it would quickly become a favorite of mine.  The punch is sold individually or as a bundle with the Merry Little Labels stamp set:

Here’s where it gets really good – the punch also pairs with a sentiment in Spooky Cat and Labels to Love, the set I’m featuring on my card today.  That means you’ll get a lot of use out of this punch.  Here’s a look at this fun set that covers Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving and Halloween:

  • Label Layers.  This is a relatively simple card, but there are lots of great layers on this small label.  Here’s a quick graphic to share those layers and a couple of tips about how I built this sweet sentiment and punch:Labels to Love, Everyday Label Punch, Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!
  • Autumn Beauty.  The colors on this card are inspired by the gorgeous colors in the small background panel of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper – here’s a look at this gorgeous paper (you can click on the image below to see closeups of the paper and some wonderful samples in my online store):

  1. Good morning Brian,
Love the color choices and that label punch. Awesome card.
By any chance, do you have a chart of your color choices?
Otherwise I will go back through your blogs and write them down.
Thank you and have a great day.

  2. Love that DSP background with the color combo for the label and sentiment. Very nice. Enjoy your day!

  3. So pretty in the fall colors! Our leaves are just beginning to turn already…..?

  4. I would have to call that a Fabulous Fall favorite card this year Brian. Since fall is my favorite season of the year, it’s only natural that I would love, love, love the colors of fall. Your card today is overrun with those absolutely wonderful colors. Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla with the DSP spinkles of green are just plain yummy. I absolutely love this card. Thanks for sharing your amazing color combinations. I save them all to reference as that is where I need the most help in making cards.

    • Thanks so much, Grace! These colors are truly perfect together – I’m glad you like them as much as I do. It might be wishful thinking for the Fall season to get here faster. 🙂 I appreciate your kind words. <3

  5. Nice! I love a good falls card.

  6. Wonderful card, BUT how did you get all the little holes around the Everyday Label Punch???? Thanks. I have picked up many new ideas.

    • Hi Glenna, The dots are actually a part of the stamp’s design – so I can’t take credit for that. 🙂 The stamp design has two border lines and a border of dots. Thanks!

  7. With so many fires in Montana which results in terrible air quality, I am indeed excited for some fall weather to put an end to this madness. Crisp, clean and soothing card Brian!

    • Thanks for your wonderful comment, Ginger. I’m sorry to see all those fires out there – hope the Fall brings better weather and crisper air. <3

  8. Fall is my favorite season ! I love this dsp and I love love your detailed picture listings . I had not thought about using the marker nor masking . I am a PUNCH LOVER ! So this one is on the list (along with the Cat Punch and the Leaf Punch !!

    • Thanks, Sonny! I’m so glad the Cajun Craze ink showed up so well on the Crushed Curry paper – perfect. I love punches – and I’m glad you are, too. All three of these punches are great all-year.

  9. Love the look of all those layers for the sentiment. Perfect against the pretty paper background!

  10. The colors are beautiful and the layering “look” is very cool.

    • Thanks, Katrina! These colors stay tucked away for most of the summer, so it’s nice to pull them out a play a bit. Glad you like the layering on this sentiment. Thanks!

  11. Stunning card design! Love it

  12. Beautiful card Brian. The colors you chose say Fall and nothing says Fall like Thanksgiving. Great project.

  13. My brain must be sleeping – did you use the new punch and fussy cut the other three layers (so this would have been a good multi layer die? Love the colors/paper and everything about this card. Great display – as usual.

    • Roxanne – the image inside the punch is stamped with Labels to Love (not actually layers). I colored between the two lines with Cajun Craze ink to give the illusion of layers. Hope that helps! Thanks for your kind words about this card – I’m so glad you like it.

  14. Oh my friend , I love it , I just got that DSP, yayyyyyy,
    Tfs
    Hugs Frenchie

  16. Me thinks this bundle will be on my must have list!!

    • It HAS to be on your list, Toni. 🙂 It’s such a great set! There are so many great sentiments and images that will fit in this shape – even if they aren’t designed to be inside it. <3
