This week’s CAS(E) This Sketch includes a fun burst of flowers coming in from the top, right corner of the card. I flipped through my Stampin’ Up! catalog to find the right images I could stamp – flowers, snowflakes, textures – I looked at them all. Then…I found just what I was looking for. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Detailed Santa Thinlits Dies. Do you recognize the dies I used to create the wintry flurry I created on this card? The Detailed Santa Thinlits Die was a featured item in last year’s Holiday Catalog – a gorgeous cutout of Santa Clause and his flowing beard. The die carried over to this year’s Annual Catalog and can be found on page 216.
I cropped the die on a square of Soft Sky cardstock just a tad bit taller and wider than the die. I snipped out Santa’s face and hat and flipped the whole thing upside down to create a delightful winter storm.
- Don’t You? Don’t you just love this sentiment? It was the perfect size and style for the space I needed to fill on this card, AND the words are beautiful. The sentiment is from a stamp set called Season Like Christmas in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog.
I predicted that this stamp set would be one of the most popular in the catalog (and I still believe it deserves to be), but this is the first time I’ve inked it up. Will definitely be getting some good projects made with this stamp set this season.
- Wintry Blues. I just love all shades of blue on Holiday cards. I’ve always reached for Pool Party for snow, but I’ve been gravitating toward Soft Sky lately. Combined with Whisper White and Night of Navy, it’s quite lovely. If you like this combination of colors, too, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Season Like Christmas Papers: Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Thick Whisper White Inks: Night of Navy Accessories: Detailed Santa Thinlits Dies, Colorful Seasons Thinlits Dies, Subtles Enamel Shapes (Soft Sky), Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian’s Bundles
Have you ever wished there was an “I Want Everything Button” for the launch of a catalog (I’m sure I could work one up for you if you need one)? This new catalog is AMAZING, and I’m thrilled to share it with you! To help you make the most of your 2017 Holiday Catalog purchases, I’ve created four, limited-time bundles with select bundles in the Holiday Catalog:
- Christmas Quilt
- Merry Little Christmas
- Painted Harvest
- Spooky Night
I added up products for each of these bundles (each already includes a 10% off bundle) and took off at least 10% more on each. That’s like getting free shipping! You’ll definitely want to review my bundles…

This is a gorgeous mix of blues! The layout is a little different and a Wow as well. It’s a super card!
Thanks, Jackie! I was going to make a square card but switched it up at last minute. I’m glad you like it.
So clever, Brian, to make Santa’s beard so versatile. You have given it greater possibilities. Beautiful card and great take on the challenge. I hope Atlanta is not in Irma’s reach. Have a nice day!
We’ve had only a small amount of rain as Irma moved west to Alabama. Might get more this afternoon, but so far so good. Thanks for your comment, HJ!
Very nice! Love the flourish and what a beautiful sentiment! You did it again, Brian!
Thanks so much, Carrie! I love this sentiment, too. Such a beautiful set.
This is gorgeous! I love the blues together, and the snowflake with that dark blue background. I love this.
Thanks for your sweet comment, Rachael! I love the designs in these snowflake dies, too. So easy to use. <3
Only you could have envisioned turning this die into a flourish Brian. Your creative is absolutely jaw dropping and what jumped into my mind was that by changing the snowflake into a Star of David and using a Happy Hanukkah stamp this design would be perfect for both holidays. WOW! You amaze me every day!
Thanks, Grace! You are right – this would be a great card for Hanukkah, too! The colors are already there. 🙂
This awesome! I love it in everyway!!
Thanks, Jennifer! I’m so happy you like it. I appreciate your kind comments. <3
