The tiny mittens in the Smitten Mittens set are just adorable. How could I not ink up these little guys? This week’s color challenge for FabFriday gave me three great colors for these sweet mittens – Cajun Craze, Tranquil Tide and Rich Razzleberry. Here’s my fun card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Smitten Mittens Bundle. What a fun bundle! There are so many great ways to dress up the mittens in this Smitten Mittens set – stamp some patterns, die cut some textures or just keep them sweet and simple. These little mittens feature a sweet heart – so cute. The set also features some great sentiments you’ll certainly love for the Holidays. Here’s a look at this sweet bundle:
- Heat Embossing with a Reverse Image. When you ink up the stamps for these little mittens, you get a solid image with a heart in the middle (that heart is the uninked portion of the stamp). To create mittens with each of these three colors, I stamped the mittens with Whisper White Craft Ink (and covered with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder) on the three colors of card stock. Gave me just what I wanted – a pop of color for the little hearts in the center of the mittens. Embossing Tip: To give better coverage of white, I stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink (vs. VersaMark) before adding the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
- A Perfect Sentiment. I wanted to find the perfect sentiment for these sweet mittens (can I call them swittens?). I didn’t have to look far – there’s a great sentiment in the Hearts Come Home stamp set – “enjoy the warmth of the season” is a perfect accompaniment to the smittens, don’t you think? I used a different sentiment from this same set on Tuesday (you can see that project here). Here’s a look at this awesome set:
Stamp Sets: Smitten Mittens, Hearts Come Home Papers: Tranquil Tide, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White Inks: Cajun Craze, Whisper White Craft Ink Accessories: Many Mittens Framelits Dies, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the FabFriday site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

This is a cute cute card !!
Thanks so much, Sonny! I knew I wanted to keep this card simple to best showcase these sweet mittens. I appreciate your comments!
precious. the embossing makes the mittens look warm and fuzzy!
Thanks, Mary! These warm colors helped, too.
Hey Brian – you must have gotten into my brain this morning. I was making out my list for my next order and at the very top is the Smitten Mittens bundle. LOL What a sweet and cute card you made with the tiny stamps. How could anyone not love it or not want this set after seeing it?
Oh, Grace! You’ll love this sweet bundle – there are so many options for great texture and detail cutouts. I only used the outline of these little mittens. Thanks so much for your kind words.
So adorably sweet, I like the tiny mittens a little better than the large ones. Reminds me of when my girls were small. The card is beautifully done Brian and the sentiment is perfect. Great job
Thanks so much, Robbye! So glad you like the little mittens. They are so fun to play with. Thanks for your sweet comment – so glad the card evokes that memory for you. <3
Oh my this is adorable! Love the white embossing!
Thanks so much, Linda! I was going to stamp the mittens in the colors but wanted the hearts to have color. <3
Funny Brian how certain things as we age, we forget and others stick to our brains like glue. I remember loving mittens, maybe because they were easier than gloves…LOL. Totally cute card!
I’m sure Mom would have a different memory, but I don’t recall ever having mittens like these. I remember knitted gloves (with five fingers) but never these. That makes them much more appealing to me, I guess. 🙂 Thanks, Katrina!
Cute, cute, cute!
Thanks, thanks, thanks! <3
May I say it again? I love your style!! Too cute.
Can’t say it too many times. 🙂 Thanks, Julie! I really appreciate it.
Not only are you the layer King, you’re also the color combo King! Cajun Craze on a holiday card? Who’d a thunk?
Thanks, Candy! My first instinct was to make a Fall card, but I knew I could make it work with Christmas. I appreciate your comment!
This is such a cute card. I love it all!
Thanks, Jackie! The mittens are adorable – I just stamped them and put them on a card. 🙂
Putting the heat emboss powder on the White Craft – genius! Love that card.
Works every time! So glad you like the tip. 🙂
Such a fun card Brian! All the mittens look darling! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much, Mona! These little mittens really are adorable and fun to work with. Thank you for your kind comments!
