Happy World Card Making Day, y’all! I’m super-excited today – not only am I spending today with LOTS of my friends (my upline, Pam, and I are hosting our 5th World Card Making Day event – I’ll share lots of pictures and details from the event in posts next week), but I am also participating in an amazing World Card Making Day blog hop with some online friends. What fun!
I’m excited to share a sweet-and-simple “thinking of you” card. You probably can’t tell (except that you’re really smart and know your Stampin’ Up! products), but I’m using a Christmas-themed paper to showcase how it can be used throughout the year. I’m also using a new product – Stampin’ Blends – that I’m excited to share more about below. For now, here’s my card:
- Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. Do you recognize the Designer Series Paper I’ve used here? Doh! I just gave away the answer to the question in the title of this section. Anyhoo…this page of paper is Whisper White and Basic Black. I added color to the leaves for a sweet and serene look. With just a little color (or paired with other colors), many of these patterns can be used all year long. Love that versatility! Here’s a closer look at my painted paper:
- Stampin’ Blends! Stampin’ Up! has released a new set of alcohol markers – these new Stampin’ Blends markers will be offered in a dark and light shade of select colors. Alcohol markers are so easy to use – they give such a uniform wash of color (with one marker) or beautiful depth and texture (with more than one color). With nestable, press-fit lids, these markers are designed to stay sealed so the markers stay inky long-term. I used Light Pool Party and Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends markers on my project today. I also used the Color Lifter to pull away some of the color for lighter tips on the leaves. Stampin’ Blends are available to be purchased by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators (for now), and no date for when customer can purchase them has been published. New Demonstrators, though, can add these markers to their Starter Kit – what a deal! If you have questions, please email me at [email protected].
- Color Combination. I just love the depth of this Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper – all that black is so rich. Black looks even more deep when paired with the softness of Pool Party. If you like this combination of colors, too, please save this for inspiration:

I hope you’ll pop over to the next designer on the hop, Sue Plote, to see what she’s created to celebrate World Card Making Day – and then to the others in the hop.
Happy World Card Making Day!
