WCMD2017 – Make-and-Takes

Yesterday I was excited to share pictures from the World Card Making Day event I hosted with Pam Morris, my Stampin’ up! upline this past weekend.  If you missed this summary of the day, please check it out here.

Today I want to share the Make-and-Takes we shared with this awesome group of demonstrators.  Each participant received a handout with full details on each project, including measurements (so I’m not sharing all of that publicly).  I am, though, sharing the projects as inspiration – and to show off our awesome make-and-takes.  These are the projects our participants made:

Gift Card Gift Bag

Gift cards are becoming more and more common.  In order to help make gift cards a little more special, we created this gift card holder that fits perfectly in a Gold Striped bag.  The gorgeous banner that’s clipped to the front just makes it more special.  Your friends and family will be BEGGING you to just give them a gift card next year.

Good Tidings Baby Wipes Card

Participants used three greens (Emerald Envy, Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist) and a baby wipe to make this beautiful card:

Cocoa and Marshmallows Pocket

Each of the participants in our event received the Hug in a Mug stamp set – it’s an adorable stamp set that hasn’t received the level of recognition it deserves.  With a half-sheet of cardstock, Julie DiMatteo helped design these cute pouches to hold a pack of cocoa and a test tube filled with dehydrated marshmallows.  What a sweet gift!

3″ x 3″ Card Gift Box

There’s nothing sweeter than a little gift box of cards.  It’s final – there’s no arguing that.  Here’s a sweet box and four cards we made with the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack:

Smitten Mittens Penguins

We were fortunate to have Donna Griffith present at our event.  This is the third time Donna has come to World Card Making Day in Atlanta – and she brought lots of great ideas for how to showcase Smitten Mittens.  Inspiring!

Squeal alert – I’m thrilled to share just one of the ideas Donna shared – transforming mittens into penguins.  If you are in a place where you can’t squeal out loud, then shut down the browser right now:

Smitten Mittens Penguins, Stampin' Up!How adorable is that!?!

We were excited to share all of these projects with the participants at our event – and I’m thrilled to share a little bit about them with you.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  10. Every project was fabulous! I can’t even pick a favorite although those sweet little penguins really did steal my heart! What a wonderful weekend that must have been. I must admit that I wish we had people in this area that would plan an event like that or even just a card making retreat. You and Pam are both amazing. I cannot even begin to imagine how many hours it took to plan this event. Thanks for sharing Brian.

    • Thanks, Grace! Lots and lots of hours – so much work to prep all these projects and plan out the other details of the event. It was worth it, though. Such a fun day with a fun group!

    • Thanks for your comment, Eileen McClean! I love your name – I’d never be able to just call you by your first name. 🙂 <3 So glad you like them, and thanks for your kind words. <3

  16. Great creations! I bet everyone had a great time as well.

I had to laugh at your liking Eileen’s name. My maiden name, egads that sounds so weird, was High. My mom’s name was Marjorie Eileen High. One year I got them all personalized license plates. My mom’s was ME HIGH and she made the newspaper with that license plate!

  17. where do you find dehydrated marshmellows?

  18. Hi Brian. Cute projects!!! What a sweet surprise to discover that the cocoa and mini marshmallow item I was pinning was from one of your WCMD events. You and Pam always do such a great job with those. So fun! I hope all is well with you!

    • Hey Amy! Julie DiMatteo helped me with this project. It was great fun! I still remember your coloring book project as one of the best presentations ever. Ever. Hope you are doing well. ♥♥♥
