Remarkable You for FMS309

After a customer purchased Remarkable You last week, I’ve been itching to pull out this favorite floral set of mine.  I adore the big, bold lines – makes it so easy to color and snip.  Because of that, I’ve often paper-pieced the leaves and flowers in the set.  For Linda Callahan’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week, though, I used my Stampin’ Blends to give the leaves (stamped on the background panel) and flowers (colored, snipped and popped up) in this great set.  Here’s my card:

  • Remarkable You – It’s Remarkable!  Remarkable You is a carryover stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2015 Annual Catalog, and it’s one of my all-time favorite stamp sets.  While the set is at a slightly higher price point than many other sets (the images are really large [and wonderful], and the set is only offered in red rubber), but it’s worth the investment.  I’ve used all of the images and all of the sentiments – this set has been a go-to for me since I bought it when it was first released.  It’s fun for coloring (if you like that kind of thing) or paper snipping (if you like that kind of thing) or just creating a beautiful, simple background on a card (you MUST like that kind of thing).  Here’s a closeup of my flower and gorgeous leaves:Remarkable You, Window Shopping, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS309How beautiful is this combination?  Here’s a look at this wonderful stamp set that you really need (if you don’t yet have it):

  • Ink and Paper.  I used the Old Olive and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves and flower on this project.  Stampin’ Up! has released a new set of alcohol markers to demonstrators – these new Stampin’ Blends markers will be offered to customers starting November 1.  The alcohol markers (offered in a dark and light shade of select colors) are so easy to use – they give such a uniform wash of color (with one marker) or beautiful depth and texture (with more than one color).  Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWith nestable, press-fit lids, these markers are designed to stay sealed so the markers stay inky long-term.  I used the Color Lifter to strategically pull away some of the color on the tips of the petals and leaves to lighten things up a bit.  Do you recognize the Designer Series Paper featured in the background of this card?  The Daffodil Delight piece was pulled from Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper – what fun!  Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this awesome pack of papers:Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!During October, Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper is one of many papers that’s part of Stampin’ Up!’s “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” Promotion.  To see all of the papers in this promotion, please click here or on the image below:
  • Color Combination.  The fresh and clean color palette on today’s card stands out in a sea of greens and reds this time of year.  I’m so glad that all three – Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight – are available in the Stampin’ Blends (although I only used the Old Olive and Calypso Coral markers today).  If you enjoy this color combination as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up!
