Vintage Leaves for GDP110

This week’s Global Design Project Sketch Challenge offers a fun layout with two bold panels and a sweet collection of objects.  Such fun!  I used the Pick a Pattern Designer Series paper to crop bold stripes to support this sweet sentiment and fun leaf.  The Crushed Curry stripes in the paper really helps me make a Fall-themed card with this happy paper.  Here’s my card:

  • Fun Border with Vintage Leaves.  Vintage Leaves (and the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies) are my favorites for beautiful Fall cards.  The details in these sketched leaves are perfectly beautiful – so there’s no need to alter them at all.  But I did.  Before I share my quick-and-easy alteration, here’s a look at the Vintage Leaves Photopolymer stamps:

I stamped each of these three leaves on three colors of cardstock (Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Old Olive) and cropped them with the Leaflets Dies.  Before attaching them to my card – and to mimic the thin, black borders around the large panel and sentiment – I colored the space outside of the leaf stamps and the edge of the die cut with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  It really adds a depth to these three leaves.Use a marker to create a border around a cropped image, Vintage Leaves, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP110

  • Pick a Pattern.  Since it was first introduced in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog last Spring, I’ve been madly in love with Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper.  Even as the seasons change, I’m reaching for this paper just as much as I did back then.  Why?  Because it’s amazing and is filled with super-fun pages that are perfect for every occasion you can think of.  Here’s a look at the patterns and colors in this pack of papers:  Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper is one of the papers that’s on sale in October (buy 3, get 1 free) – you don’t want to miss this deal!  What fun!  Click this banner to see all the papers that are a part of this special:Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Sale
  • Fall Beauty.  While these leaves are showcased on a panel of Crushed Curry (a great Fall color) Designer Series Paper, the color of the three leaves also say “Fall” to me.  If you like this combination of Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Old Olive as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up!
