DAY ONE: 2017 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap

Holiday One-for-One Swap, Stampin' Up!Today’s the day!  Over the past month, I’ve been running to my mail box to collect the GORGEOUS cards for my 2017 Holiday One-for-One Card Swap.  Today I have the pleasure of sharing some of them with you.  Yay!  In a series of several posts over the next several weeks, I will share these cards with everyone.  There’s so much wonderful inspiration to share!

I love these swaps because they showcase beautiful projects from cardmakers at ALL SKILL LEVELS – some are brand new to the craft, and others have been creating for years.  Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).

If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment about that card when it shows up on my blog – that way, the creator of that card will be sure to see your comments.

Can’t wait to make one in Christmas colors…maybe Garden Green and Real Red on Whisper White with Pool Party layers and plaid bow using Christmas Around the World DSP when it gets here ( it is on the way to me ) ! Thanks

  23. Oh what fun to receive my swap card from Liz Stillman. I love the background you used on this card. Painted Harvest is one of my favorite sets in the holiday catalog. Then what a surprise when I opened up your card. Love the details on the inside. So glad I got your beautiful card!

  24. Oh my goodness all of the cards are just beautiful I got my swap today and I just love it. Thanks so much for doing this I love to see all of the creations of these talented people.

  25. It would be hard to choose a favorite in this collection of beautiful autumn-themed cards! The color choices, the design elements, and the skills of each card maker are inspiring and I can’t wait to incorporate some of these ideas into my holiday cards. I received the card designed by Sandra Rice and am fascinated by the raised letters, the multiple layers she used, and the scattering of fall leaves across the front of the card — it is stunning! I would love to know, Sandra, how you created the mixture of colors and the watercolor effect on each leaf — you definitely captured the beauty of autumn! Thanks, Brian, for hosting the card swap and for sharing the talent and creativity of these individuals with all of us!

    • Hi Paulette…thank you very much for your kind words regarding my card. I had so much fun creating it. I challenged myself to use techniques I had not tried before. The coloring of the leaves on my card was accomplished by applying drops of ink from reinkers on a baby wipe and then using the inked wipe as your stamp pad… You can find the technique on YouTube or Pinterest by searching Reinkers and baby wipe technique…have fun, it is addicting! BTW, I received YOUR stunning card and will comment when Brian post it. It is absolutely gorgeous and so, so much detail and time put into it! Thank you for sharing it!

      • Hi, Sandra! Thanks so much for the info on the technique you used to create the fall leaves; I’m looking forward to trying it on a future project! I’m delighted to know that you received my card & I am so glad that you liked it 🙂

  26. Thanks for sharing these beautiful cards.

  27. Wow, gorgeous autumn cards!!! Thank you for organizing this swap, Brian. Just before Onstage, how did you manage?!? So much inspiration here!

  28. I received Susan Harrington’s beautiful card! The inside is as spectacular as the outside. And the Wink of Stella provided a wonderful finishing touch. Thank you Susan! Thank you Brian!

  29. MARSHA!!! SQUEE! I love your card so much! I showed it to my team this weekend on my Facebook live and now I think they only want to see your cards on Sundays, not mine! It’s beautiful – thank you so much for sharing your art with me. xx

    • Lydia, Thanks so much for the compliments on my card. I had it in my head and finally put it together on the last day of Brian’s swap!!! I had made a similar card at the Stamp Camp I attend every month. I was so surprised to see it on the first day since I almost didn’t get it mailed. I really appreciated your comments. Hugs and I also enjoy your Blog.

  30. Those ARE awesome! Very inspiring ideas to save and try.
