Sneak Peek – My Bird Banter Swap Card

Well, I’m back from Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event where demonstrators were able to catch up with one another and dive into the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog.  You won’t be disappointed with the amazing selection of products in this new book.  While at OnStage, I was honored to present Bird Banter on the main stage – and i made my swaps with one of the super-fun birds from the set.  I’ll be sharing more of this set over the coming weeks, but I’m beyond excited to share my swap card.  Here’s my card:

Bird Banter, Flirty Flowers, Hello Color, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWhen I make a lot of one card, you know I like to share an “infinity shot.”  I often stack the cards in such a way as to make them appear endless.  In this case, I didn’t have the table space to include them all.  πŸ™‚  Here’s a look:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Bird Banter.  I was so honored to unveil this stamp set to the demonstrators gathered in Salt Lake City for our OnStage event.  I created five projects that I shared onstage, and I’ll be sharing those projects with you over the coming weeks.  This set is filled with great birds – who doesn’t love our feathery friends? – and some great sentiments for the inside and outside of a card.  AND it’s offered in photopolymer for perfect placement!  Yay!  Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to per-order this set in December – what a huge perk!  Here’s a sneak peek at this incredibly fun set:Bird Banter, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, #145852Even if you can’t buy this Bird Banter right now, the other two stamp sets featured in this card can be ordered today!  The oh-so-sweet sentiment is from Flirty Flowers:

The fun band across the card is from Hello Color:

  • Two Coloring Tools. While my parakeet is colored with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, the heart is colored with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.  It’s important to know how you plan to color an image so that you can stamp it with the right black ink.  For alcohol markers (like Stampin’ Blends), you should stamp the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  For water-based markers (like Stampin’ Write Markers), Archival Basic Black pads are perfection!  I stamped the bird with Memento ink and the heart with an Archival pad, so I was all set when it came time to color.  πŸ™‚
  • Those Colors.  Has there ever been a sweeter, brighter, cheerier color combination?  I was hesitant to use this much Lemon Lime Twist, but I’m thrilled with how it turned out.  Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo really pop against this background of lime green – what an uplifting combination of colors.  If you like this combination of Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo, please save this:Stampin' Up!
