Today’s project is a combination of the FabFriday color challenge that went live last week (Real Red, Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy) with this this week’s theme challenge at the Global Design Project (Chistmas Joy). If you missed my Party Pandas card with the FabFriday colors, click here. If you’ve already seen that card, then just smile and move on today’s card. Here’s my card:

  • Good Tidings & Merry Little Labels. I’ve showcased the Good Tidings stamp set and Merry Little Labels stamp set multiple times since they premiered in the Holiday Catalog earlier this year. In fact, I’ve only created with the gorgeous sentiment in the Good Tidings set – this is the first time I’ve inked up the holly that coordinates with the sentiment (that I didn’t use here). Boy! Here’s a look at Good Tidings:

And here’s a look at the Merry Little Labels bundle that should be on your wish list (if you don’t already have it):

  • Oopsies. To make sure I stamped all of my holly leaves and berries perfectly, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them all up perfectly – I don’t trust myself with alignment of images like these. I was so excited when all of the berries and leaves were all lined up that I plain-ole’ forgot to add the stems of the branches. Doh! I glued everything down before realizing the tragic mistake – before realizing it wasn’t much of a tragedy. The leaves and berries are abstract enough that they look fine without the stem, right? Thanks – your approval means the world to me.
  • Glitter Enamel Dots. I love how Stampin’ Up!’s colors coordinate perfectly between inks, papers and accessories. When I reached for my Glitter Enamel Dots (part of the Colorful Season suite), thinking the dots include Lemon Lime Twist, I was sad to see I was wrong – they are Old Olive.

Bright side? The Glitter Enamel Dots are offered in a variety of shades (as you can see above), so it was really easy to use some of the lighter dots to pair with Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy. Joy!Glitter Enamel Dots, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  1. Such a pretty use of this stamp set and I love your pop with the Glimmer Dots!

You did not need the stems, that would have been too much.

  3. Yes, those stems would have been a distraction. Beautiful card Brian!

  4. I agree with the above folks that the stems might have been too much .
That holly really comes out looking very ARTSY !
    Pretty !

  5. Great choice with the Good Tidings stamp set. No stems? Happy accident. Glimmer dots are never wrong. Very nice card.

  6. Love your choices for today’s card, the layout and the stamp set. I’ll be honest I never would have imagined that Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist would play so nicely together, but they work together beautifully. Great job Brian.

  7. What a great layout and wonderful use of color. I did not like the Lemon-Lime Twist whenI first saw it in the color but you are changing my mind – about the color and the stamp set! Another set I had not considered but you may have changed my mind. (I wonder if the building manager would understand if I didn’t pay my rent this month so I could get everything I still want from the holiday catalog? Probably not but nice thought.) You absolutely did not need the stems. You made a great background without them. (We might not have even noticed if you had not mentioned it). Thanks for sharing. I always get great inspiration.

    • You probably need to continue paying your rent, Nancy! πŸ™‚ I’m so glad you like this card. I’ve really come around to loving Lemon Lime Twist – it’s a lot more beautiful than we probably gave it credit for. Thanks for your kind comments!

  8. Another awesome card! Love that layered stamping on the background, perfectly designed! πŸ™‚

  9. I was wondering if I was the only one who liked this color combo but since you made 2 fabulous cards I guess you like it too! Love those little holly branches! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday….again! πŸ™‚

  10. Whoa – TWO cards for this one?? Lol, I have to admit, nit sure which one I like better – this is my fave version of this Holly set, though! Yay!
