Heartfelt Thoughts with Heartfelt Blooms

It’s almost time! Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog goes live on January 3 – along with the kickoff of Sale-a-Bration, Stampin’ Up!’s annual sales event during which customers can earn free products for every $50 they spend and during which they can earn additional Stampin’ Rewards on orders greater than $250. What fun! My project today features Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, one of the exclusive options during this year’s sales event. Here’s my card:

Heartfelt Blooms, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, sympathy card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Heartfelt Blooms. The first stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration brochure is designed with a new, patent-pending technique to create amazing depth on stamped images. This Distinktive design lays ink at different opacities to create a photographic finish. It’s absolutely amazing! Here’s a look at this stamp set:

And here’s a closeup of this stamp image. Look how smooth it is! I was convinced this stamp would not generate the look promised by the stamp. How could THIS create than gorgeous bundle of flowers?: Heartfelt Blooms, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWell, it did! Just look how detailed the image is when stamped! I didn’t think it was possible – but it worked just as it was supposed to! 🙂

  • Sweet Label. The stamp set contains three sentiments that make this collection of flowers perfect for a thank you or thinking of you card. These sentiments are gorgeous enough to be used on other cards, too – I love this scripted font. I chose the “sending heartfelt thoughts” sentiment to make a beautiful sympathy card. I stamped the sentiment on Soft Sky cardstock with Archival Basic Black and cropped it with one of the dies from another must-have (this one is from the Petal Palette Bundle in the Occasions Catalog). Here’s a look at this bundle:

  • Blues. All shades of blue (or any monochromatic look) can be lovely for a sympathy card. I chose a base of Dapper Denim – somewhere between the sophistication of Night of Navy and the gentle touch of Soft Sky. If you like this combination of Dapper Denim, Soft Sky and Whisper White, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Dapper Denim, Soft Sky, Whisper White

Simple. That’s a perfect way to create a card that share sympathy. This gorgeous set gives a perfect image to coordinate with the simple style of this card.

    A beautiful card.

  5. This is beautiful Brian! I passed on this set the first time round but now that I see it in action I am obligated to spend more to earn more. That’s a perfectly logical premise, right? I also love the colour combination. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Thank you so much, Arlene! I see NO PROBLEMS with your logic on this one. It’s perfectly reasonable to spend more to earn this set – it’s stunning in person. <3

  6. Simply stunning Brian. It just goes to show that there are times when using less can make the biggest impression. This stamp IS amazing and your color choices bring out the best in it. I passed it up when looking at the catalog but now that you shown it in all it’s glory, I’m definitely going for this one. Thank you.

    • Thanks so much, Grace! There’s really no way to show how beautiful it is without sending a finished card around to everyone. It’s a stunner! So glad you like it – you’ll love having one for yourself. 🙂

  7. I do love this Stamp. Bet it’s going to a big seller. I do have a question, I am not able to share your cards from your posts anymore. Used to touch the card and share it on Pinterest. Am I missing something?

    • Thanks for your message, Christina. So glad you like this set – it’s truly wonderful. I’ll have to look into this issue with my IT wizards. When I hover over the pictures, a little PinIt button appears in the top, left corner of the picture. Also, you can click on the Pinterest button at the base of the post and then select the picture you want to post. I’ll touch base with you to get more information. <3

  8. Wow the blue flowers just jump off the page! Great card!

  9. Absolutely gorgeous! Your use of monotone to create this card somehow enhances the detail of this stamp. I love this.

  10. Beautiful card! Would you also be able to stamp this in black and color in with the new markers?

  11. STUNNING Card!

  12. Simply gorgeous!

  13. It’s beautiful, Brian! In the old days I would have used a brayer to apply ink to a stamp that looked like that! I’m happy to know it can be done just by using one of Stampin Up’s wonderful pads!!

  14. Found this card on Pinterest and think it is incredible. I’ll have to get in touch with my local SU Demo. Thanks for sharing!

  15. A wonderful card Brian. Love the colors. Thanks for all yout inspirations, been following for a while now.

  16. I love the look of this stamp. How does it look if you ink it with a regular stamp pad. Have you tried it?

    • Thanks, Mona-Lisa. It’s an amazing image! I stamped it with my black cloth pad, too, and it gave the same effect. I didn’t like it as much in black, but the detail is still there. Please let me know if you’d like to place an order – I’m happy to help you out.

  17. Love your cards, are they all the same size or a mixture?

    • Thank you so much, Marilyn! Most of my cards (including this one) are 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. I like to play with card sizes, though. If I make a differently sized card, I note it in my write-up. Thanks so much!
