Cue the Confetti for CAS(E) This Sketch

I may need an intervention to keep me away from the amazing papers in the pack of Picture Perfect Party 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers. I love the photographic papers in this pack – and the colors and patterns on the opposite side are pretty great, too! I couldn’t stay away as I made this quick-and-simple card for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for Donna Mikasa’s sketch challenge that inspired my simple card:

  • Party Fun. Oh, the fun you can have with the products in Stampin’ Up!’s Picture Perfect Party Suite – paper, stamps, inks. This suite has it all! Click on this photo to see all of the items in this suite: Picture Perfect Party Suite, Stampin' Up!, Brian King 101023While the confetti-filled Picture Perfect Party 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is the star of the show on this card, the project actually started with the Tailored Tag punch. I wanted to showcase the punch, so I found a sentiment that fits on it. “Cue the Confetti” – a gorgeous mix of print and script font – was perfect! I couldn’t help but to pair it with this amazing paper. Here’s a look at the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set:

  • Wink, Wink. I’m no fan of confetti or glitter – I adore the shine and color of both, but I heartily object to the mess they typically create. Why, then, does this project feature both? Well…the confetti is obviously contained on this printed paper. Love that! I thoroughly applied shine to this Berry Burst band with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. The sparkles dry into the paper – and done! This isn’t the kind of glitter that will rub off on everything you own – and it looks great! Take a look at how shiny (and clean) this band is:Apply Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to cardstock for a sparkly finish, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Versatile Shape. As I mentioned above, this card started with the Tailored Tag punch – I love this fun hexagon shape! One of my customers said that she wouldn’t need the punch because she doesn’t send Father’s Day cards (the punch is bundled with the True Gentleman Suite). If you think like her, I encourage you to consider all of the sentiments you can nestle inside this fun shape – it’s certainly not limited to the stamps it’s paired with in the catalog. Here’s a look at the Tailored Tag punch:

  8. I am CASEing the front of the card and inside putting “It’s your birthday, celebrate” or whatever I choose. Maybe adding a teeny plastic flat bag of confetti just for fun. I have a supply of “CELEBRATE” postage stamps for the envelope too. Thanks for a quick and fun card. I could even put some coordinating cardstock scraps in the shredder to make the confetti!
