You’re Welcome

People are universally in favor of thank you cards – handmade cards that show gratitude from the sender to the recipient. Thank you for the gift. Thank you for coming to my party. Thank you for being awesome. When I send thank you gifts to customers or to achieving team members, I often receive a handmade thank you card in return. While I love the gesture (a thank you card in exchange for a thank you gift), I often feel pressure to send a thank you card to thank them for their lovely thank you card. It’s a circle that never ends.

Until today. Today I’m sharing my solution to the never-ending (although always thoughtful and wonderful) thank you card circle. Today I’m sharing (what just might be) the very first ever card to say, “You’re Welcome.” How’s that for ingenuity?! Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Birthday Wit. You’re Welcome. When I write witty tips and tricks in my posts, I often times say “you’re welcome” to get ahead of the praises you’ll send my way for my helpful generosity. Sarcastic wit is part of who I am – that’s why I was so excited to see this “you’re welcome” sentiment in Stampin’ Up!’s Birthday Wit stamp set. Such fun! Here’s a look at this fun set:

I thought “you’re welcome” would pair perfectly with a hanging basket of succulents from Hanging Garden. I colored each of the leaves with a Blender Pen and varying concentrations of Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz ink. • Tutti-Frutti 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The striped paper the serves as the backdrop for this card is one of the fun patterns in Stampin’ Up!’s Tutti-Frutti 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. What a fun collection! The black-and-white stripes give a modern feel to this card that doesn’t take away from the focal image. I love the colors and patterns in this pack of papers. • Color Combination. Pink and green – such a classic color combination. I love (and has always loved) this combination of two of Stampin’ Up!’s most classic colors – Old Olive and Melon Mambo. With the addition of the Basic Black stripes in the background, these two colors are even brighter and more fun. If you like this combination as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! 1. Brian-
I LOVE this card…all the vibrant colors are beautiful! I also love the thought process behind this card. I have had similar thoughts many times about “the loop.” Good job!

  2. Great card. Great colors. Next there will be a stamp that says, “No, YOU’RE welcome.” just to keep things going.

  3. The Tutti Frutti paper is almost magical in it’s endless possibilities. Love the stripe you chose and simple coloring of the “greens!”

  4. Ingenius idea Brian!!! (And a very pretty card).

  5. YES !!! When you hit that MILLION mark and get to design a stamp set the YOU`RE WELCOME and other BRIAN sentiments should be your choice !

  8. Good thing I read down far enough- I could see myself sending a thank you card for the “you’re welcome “ card! Loved the post today!! Thank you! (Should I send a card to say that?!)

  9. I’m with Dianne – keep the loop a goin’! LOL All kidding aside Brian, you would have to make 3 gazillion You’re Welcome cards because all of your fan following says thank you every day for you and all you do to inspire us.

    • Grace – (1) thanks for thinking I have a gazillion followers and (2) thanks for always leaving me a wonderful comment. I’m so glad you appreciate what I make and share. <3

You had me smiling about the thank you circle of love! I love the simple lines and the hanging basket seems just perfect. I have had times where the thank you card was better than the present I made or sent – this would be a perfect solution to add a note inside to tell them their thank you card was the best. But then the circle goes on but then again this could be fun with the right people. Keep us in the loop Brian!

  11. I love it Brian, it’s perfect.

  12. I never thought of sending a “You’re Welcome” card but, from now on, I just might start doing it.
What a sweet stamp set this is, those little baskets, although small, they pack a punch!!
As always, your color combinations and fabulous layout showcase your main image beautifully.
    Thank you for sharing.

    • Thanks so much, Maria! Please add “you’re welcome” cards to your daily regimen. <3 I love playing with colors and am thrilled you like what I've chosen to work with . Thanks, Maria!

  13. I love this cute card, Brian. The color combo, the coloring of the greens in the basket and the surprise sentiment of “You’re Welcome” really make a great card. I love how you mix and match stamp sets and find inspiration in each piece of a stamp set that I have completely overlooked. Keep up the good work of inspiring us each day! Have a great weekend.

I like how you only colored the leaves in the hanging baskets … it seems to keep your eyes on the sentiment. Thank you!?

  15. Awesome stripes plus sentiment…genius!
